[ACCIDENT] Fire Breaks Out in a 1986 Corvette in Arizona

A fire that started in the engine compartment of this black 1986 Corvette totaled the vehicle on Wednesday.

The driver was sitting at a red light on Duval Mine Road in Green Valley, Arizona when the blaze erupted.

Despite the fact that the car was a total loss and traffic was backed up for about 30 minutes, the good news is that no one was hurt.

Sadly, the Corvette was a recent birthday present for the driver.

The fire began about 3 p.m. and didn’t take long to engulf the car and send thick smoke soaring into the air.

Once Green Valley Fire District firefighters arrived on the scene, the blaze was out in less than two minutes, but unfortunately by then, the damage had already been done.

Cause of the fire had not been determined by Thursday morning, according to officials with the Green Valley Fire District.
