Canadian Tuner Unveils Impressive Gold Rush Corvette

Canada. The great white north. The country that brought us back bacon, Molson beer and Ron Fellows is also home to Elite Tuners of Canada (ETC) and their Gold Rush colored C6 Corvette. The tuning company made their first appearance at the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto last week with a display of two cars in front of the Chevrolet area. Dubbed the “Top Tuner 5” project, the Corvette and its Chevy Cruze counterpart “Top Tuner 5.5” turned a lot of heads with the race-inspired tuning projects.

The C6 Corvette was transformed in just four months from stock sports car to a track ready high performance machine. Under the hood you’ll find the new LSX 376 crate motor from GM Performance. Featuring a Procharger F1R, the LSX V8 puts out 920 HP at the wheels with 700 lb-ft of torque. A custom race suspension was provided by STD Suspension. The Corvette runs on ultra wide Pirellis mounted on custom iForged Legacy V3 wheels (20x10s in the front, 21x13s in the rear) while Baer’s Performance Big Brake System provides the ultimate in stopping power.

Inside the Corvette, you’ll find a custom roll cage, Auto Meter’s Pro Comp STACK data logging system and a 3000 Watt Pioneer sound system.

So far, this is pretty standard fare for a professionally tuned auto show Corvette. But there is nothing standard about the Corvette’s exterior. Grabbing your attention immediately is the color. The widebody kit is finished in a multi-coat Gold Rush candy colored paint. A VIS racing hood has been modified for additional airflow while integrated ductwork provides better cooling for the engine brakes.
