From Michael Enery via La Carrera Panamericana blog, the replica 1954 Von Esser Corvette piloted by Peter Bill and John Schantz of Wisconsin crashed on the Section 5 route of Queretaro to Morelia. Both drivers are okay but the Corvette suffered damage and will not be fixed. Pictures after the jump.

Although the 1954 Corvette is out of the race, all is not lost for Corvette fans. Searching the archives of the Mexsport photo gallery, I came across a red midyear that appears to be running in La Carrera Americanana as well. We’ll keep you posted when we find out more info about the car and drivers.
