Camaro’s Marketing Manger John Fitzpatrick was working the floor at the SEMA show last week when our Man in Vegas showed up. Fitzpatrick was gracious to give us a tour of the new Genuine Corvette Accessories on display. Showcasing many of the new accessories is a Cyber Gray 2010 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible outfitted with the Heritage package.
Thanks to our friend Berry Lowman, we have photos of the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport that Chevy took to SEMA to showcase a new lineup of Genuine Corvette Accessories. We see several of the new accessories listed in the Chevy press release like the “Tech” patterned engine covers and interior console trim, but we also see a new 7-spoke chrome wheel with a Corvette logo insert on display as well.
Thanks to Patrick at DigitialCorvettes, the 7-spoke wheel has been identified as the same chrome wheel found on the Hertz limited-edition Corvette ZHZ.
The new accessories will will be available from Corvette dealers early next year.
Earlier this year, Chevrolet announced the return of the Corvette Grand Sport model. It’s a track-oriented Corvette with wider wheels and tires, special suspension tuning and unique exterior details. The Corvette Grand Sport achieves a 0-60 time of less than four seconds, pulls 1.0 g on the skid pad and still boasts an EPA-rated highway fuel economy 26 mpg. GM is now at the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas where they announced a slew of cool accessories for the new Grand Sport.
This custom Corvette is billed as a tribute to the late Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, creator of the memorable Rat Fink character and a key player in the 1960′s custom/hot rod movement in Southern California. The converted C3 features an open engine bay and a bubble-top roof, and the rear end is, well, you just have to see it. The Corvette was spotted outside the Las Vegas Convention Center where it will be on display at the SEMA show this week. A walk-around video is after the jump.
The General has put out a video showing what Chevrolet has in store for the SEMA show which kicks off next week. While the video is heavily devoted to gratuitous shots of the new Camaro outfitted in Synergy Green, we do see the new 2010 Corvette Grand Sport teased. Stay tuned for more SEMA coverage next week!
Even though Specter Werkes first introduced the C6 GTR last summer, they have continued to make improvements to the package. Now that SEMA is just around the corner, the Troy, Michigan-based tuner has unleashed perhaps the best variant yet to the GTR family – this one featuring BASF Blue Pearl paint, HRE Carbon Fiber wheels and a twin turbo LS7 V8 courtesy of Lingenfelter which produces a mind-blowing 800 horsepower. The Specter Werkes GTR Corvette will be prominently displayed outside the Las Vegas Convention Center as a feature car for HRE Wheels.
For months we’ve been watching the progress on American Supercars 1963 split window inspired Mid-engine Corvette Concept called the V7 Twin Turbo and finally the car was ready for its introduction at SEMA. The concept is an engineering marvel, boasting an LS1 with twin turbos in a mid-engine layout. On the dyno, the V7 churned out 1,067 horsepower and 980 pounds of tourque.
Los Jalops got us a pic of American Super Car’s Corvette Super Coupe Concept that is being built for the SEMA show in Las Vegas later this year. The concept, officially called the V7 Super Coupe will be powered by a Chevy LS motor with twin-turbos that should bring up the horsepower output to 1,000. Smoking!
