Zora’s dream of bringing a mid-engine Corvette to market has finally been fulfilled!
Chevrolet is celebrating the Start of Regular Production (SORP) of the 2020 Corvette Stingray today and they shared this photo of a Black mid-engine Coupe on the Corvette assembly line in Bowling Green, KY.

Carl Whitlow was there for the very beginning days of the Corvette, so it’s only fitting that after his death last year, his wife Sharyon completed the circle by donating their beloved 1990 Indy 500 Festival Corvette to the National Corvette Museum.

Our friend Adam was back in the air on Sunday and as his flight plan took him over the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, he squeezed off a few photos and sent them our way.
The last C7 ever produced – a black Z06 coupe – sold at auction last summer to a collector named Daniel Snyder for a cool $2.7 million.
The first customer C8 to be built, hopefully sometime this week, just went for $3 million to enthusiast/dealer Rick Hendrick.
Big bucks, for sure.

Following Jeremy Welborn’s insightful post last week on Customer Ordered 2020 Corvette Production Starting, a reader left a comment about stopping by the Corvette Assembly Plant and seeing twenty-five C8 Corvettes in the parking lot. Thanks to Jeremy’s follow-up, Jay sent us some of his favorites that he took and gave us permission to share.
We’re calling this Corvette Heaven Part II as it seems to dovetail perfectly with yesterday’s blog post with an instagram video showing fifteen 2020 Corvettes lined up in a row.
Each week, Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvette Stingrays, Grand Sports, Z06s and ZR1s to his customers who come from all parts of the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
Even though the C8 Corvettes will be here shortly, Mike is still serving up the final C7 Corvettes and is even planning to host one more C7 class at Spring Mountain. One of the first Corvettes I can remember seeing up close was a red 1969 convertible that a neighbor’s son-in-law was fortunate enough to drive.
Being a Corvette-crazy youngster, I drooled over that car every time I saw it, and that may be one reason this barn find ’69 currently up for sale on craigslist caught my eye.

Although customer-ordered C8 Corvettes are just now hitting the assembly line, Chevrolet has been building the 2020 Corvette Stingrays for the last couple of months.
