For the last year, Terry Michaelis of ProTeam Corvette has created the ultimate buzz for a particular 1967 Corvette Coupe. The Corvette just happened to be the last Corvette produced in the 1967 model year, officially making it the Last Sting Ray. The Corvette was given a body-off restoration by the Nabers Brothers in Houston, and the entire process was filmed by Speed TV for a 6-part documentary that aired last November. After the restoration was completed, the Corvette was judged at Bloomington, where it was awarded Gold, and the NCRS, which awarded it Top Flight. The last chapter in this story, as Terry called it, was the trip to Scottsdale, Arizona to be auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction.

The Last Sting Ray (Lot # 1285) was offered up and the bidding quickly climbed to $600,000 and when the gavel fell, Ron Pratt was the new owner. With the addition of the $60,000 buyers commission, the final sales total was $660,000. For this price, the buyer gets a very nicely restored Corvette as well as all the awards, press clippings, videos and apparel that accompanied it.
