The first production 2004 Le Mans Commemorative Edition Z06 will cross the block at Mecum’s Chicago auction on Saturday October 11, 2014. The 405 horsepower Z06 bears the special Le Mans blue paint with silver and red striping, along with special badging commemorating Corvette Racing’s consecutive 1-2 finishes in its class at the 2001 and 2002 24 Hours of Le Mans.

AUSTIN, Texas (Sept. 20, 2014) – Indeed sometimes when it rains, it does pour… as was the case Saturday for Corvette Racing’s No. 65 Konica Minolta/Michelin Chevrolet Corvette C7.R. The entry of Tommy Milner, Jordan Taylor and Ricky Taylor was a victim of cruel luck as the trio finished seventh in the GTE Pro class of the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Six Hours of Circuit of The Americas.

AUSTIN, Texas (Sept. 20, 2014) – It was a difficult day for the Corvette C7.Rs in the Lone Star Le Mans event at Circuit of the Americas on Saturday. Returning to the site of a victory in last year’s American Le Mans Series race, Corvette Racing aimed for a return to the GT Le Mans (GTLM) podium in the TUDOR Championship. An early charge by Antonio Garcia in the No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R at the start of the race raised hopes as the Spaniard moved from seventh to fifth in the opening laps.

As Corvette Racing prepares a 3rd Corvette C7.R race car for the FIA’s World Endurance Championship at Circuit of The America’s next weekend in Texas, much of the speculation from fans has been focused on the livery and number the car will be wearing.
Sportscar365.com reports that the Corvette C7.R will be wearing Corvette Racing’s familiar Velocity Yellow and Black livery branded with the logos of Konica Minolta and Michelin Tires as sponsors. The C7.R will also be sporting the number 65 in the GTE-Pro class.
On the morning of August 28, 2014, the National Corvette Museum officially opened the NCM Motorsports Park, a 3.15 mile race facility in Bowling Green, KY.
A very large contingent of Corvette owners and enthusiasts were on hand to hear from Corvette Museum Executive Director Wendell Strode, along with the special guest representatives from Michelin, Mobil 1, Holley and Corvette Racing.

Garcia, Taylor finish seventh in GTLM; crash results in ninth place for Gavin, Milner
ALTON, Va. (Aug. 24, 2014) – Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor led Corvette Racing’s effort at the Oak Tree Grand Prix with a seventh-place finish Sunday at Virginia International Raceway. The result keeps Garcia in the lead of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship’s GT Le Mans driver standings and the No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R entry first in the class team championship.
We’re nearly through the first year of the unified sports car series featuring our beloved Corvette C7.Rs and while there have been some growing pains for the TUDOR Championship Series and its competitors, for the most part its been a successful year following the merger of the American Le Mans Series and GRAND-AM Rolex for sports car racing in North America.
Now with just three stops left in the 2014 series, the schedule for 2015 has been released and the Corvette C7.Rs and the GTLM class will be featured in 10 of the 12 races.
