We got the new sales figures for February from General Motors yesterday and it looks as though Corvette Sales have rebounded from the dismal 629 Corvettes sold in January. In February, 927 Corvettes were delivered to new owners. This is slightly down from 2011′s 955 Corvettes sold. For the year, sales are running -7.2% off of 2011 with 1,556 total deliveries so far in 2012.
GM Sales Reports
General Motors issued their sales report and if you haven’t heard the news, it was a pretty dismal month for sales across the board for GM brands. While overall Chevy sales were down only -1.2%, sales of the Corvette dropped nearly -13% to 629 for the month, a number we haven’t seen since February 2010.
General Motor’s December sales report was issued yesterday and shows that Corvette sales rebounded slightly in the final month of 2011. In December, Chevrolet sold 1,038 Corvettes for a 6.0% increase over December 2010′s 979 deliveries. For the calendar year of 2011, Corvette sales closed 4.3% higher than 2010 with a total of 13,164 Corvettes sold compared to 12,624.
New Corvette sales continue to slide according to the latest General Motors delivery report. Deliveries for November 2011 fell to 910 for the month. Its the third consecutive drop in sales and three out of the last four months have failed to break the 1,000 unit mark. It looks a little better on paper as in November 2010 only had 836 deliveries so the month saw an increase of 8.9%. For the calendar year to date, Chevy has sold 12,126 Corvettes, an 4.1% increase over 2010.
The monthly sales report came out last week while we were at the SEMA show so we’re just now getting around to taking a look at it. The news isn’t great as sales of Corvettes in October slipped to 946 for the month. That is a -6.4% decline from sales in October 2010. For the calendar year-to-date sales, Corvettes sales are still pacing at 3.8% more than 2010 with 11,216 Corvettes sold January-October.
We got the new monthly sales figures for September this week and Corvette sales have rebounded from the 936 deliveries made in August to 1,147 Corvettes delivered in September. Corvette sales saw a 3.4% increase over September 2010′s sales which totaled 1,109. For the year to date calendar, Corvette sales are pacing at 4.8% higher than 2010 as well.
The monthly sales figures were released by General Motors last week and Corvette sales dipped to its lowest number in seven months. In August, there were 936 Corvettes sold, a decline of -17.5% over the 1,135 Corvettes sold during the same month in 2010. For the year, Corvette sales continue to run 5% ahead of 2010 with a total of 9,123 Corvettes sold during the 2011 calendar year.
GM released July’s sales report yesterday and we continue to like what we see. Sales of Corvettes remained steady at 1,291, just nine less than June’s total of 1,299. The July 2011 figure is also 7.7% better than the 1,199 Corvettes sold in July 2010. For the calendar year to date, Corvette sales are pacing 8.4% higher than 2010 with a total of 8,187 Corvettes sold January-July.
June is the traditional model year start for the Corvette and last month the new 2012 Corvette began rolling off the Bowling Green assembly line. The start of production of the 2012 model year singled the end of 2011 models and the final count of Corvette’s produced last year was 13,596 – an 11.5% increase over 2010′s 12,194 production total.
In June 2011, 1,299 Corvettes were delivered to new owners. That was -7.5% off the June 2010′s Corvette sales, which saw an increase in sales due to the introduction of the Grand Sport models. For the 2011 calendar year, Corvette sales are up 8.5% to 6,896. Last year’s numbers for the same time period were 6,355.
General Motor released their monthly sales figures for May and Corvette sales continue to encourage us. In May 2011, 1,304 Corvettes were delivered to new buyers. Although the sales figures are down 8.7% over May 2010′s 1,428 Corvettes, it does rank as the second best month of sales since last May. For the calendar year, 5,597 have been sold which is pacing 13.1% over the 4,950 Corvettes sold the same time in 2010. Like I said, Corvette sales for 2011 are very encouraging.
