GM gives a free 2-day training course to new ZR1 buyers and the Bondurant course is designed to make new owners appreciate their ZR1s on a whole new level. Is the World Ready for General Lee Corvette ZR1?

This Corvette ZR1 has been wrapped in the Dukes of Hazzard’s General Lee livery in anticipation for the GoldRush Rally that is being held over June 8-13, 2010. A General Lee themed Corvette is certainly over the top, however, that orange against the black wheels, headlights and carbon fiber splitter and rockers is stunning and I’m starting to question if this shade is better than the 2011 Corvette’s Inferno Orange.

Jeff Gordon Drives a Corvette ZR1 around the Monticello Motor Club

The Monticello Motor Club is a new private race resort facility built on 650 acres in Monticello, New York – just 90 minutes outside of New York City. One of the configurations is a 3.5 mile road course consisting of 18 turns, 1.5 miles of straights and 450 feet total elevation changes. Today we find MMC member Jeff Gordon rocking a Corvette ZR1 at speeds up to 150 mph around the new track.

Corvette owners are familiar with some of the bigger names like Dana (aluminum spaceframe), Eaton (supercharger) and Brembo (brakes), but this graphic also shows who makes the lug nuts (Taper Pro), hood hinges (Multimatic), instrument panels (IAC) and more. Tim Allen of Home Improvement fame has listed his 2009 Corvette ZR1 for sale on eBay. The Cyber Gray 638-hp Corvette features the 3ZR options group and has only 3,084 miles on it. The sequence number is 367 of 1202 Corvettes produced in 2009. As of late Monday evening, the current bid of $92,850 has yet to hit the reserve. If you’re interested in a slightly used ZR1 with a celebrity connection, you better hurry as the auction ends Tuesday afternoon.

Corvette Makes Appearance in Whitacre's Loans Paid Back Commercial

GM’s new commercial features CEO Ed Whitacre walking through an auto plant as he tells us that GM has repaid its government loans five years ahead of schedule. The commercial shows many of the successful cars and trucks in the GM lineup with a heavy dose of Malibu. At one point during Whitacre’s stroll, you can see what we think is a Cyber Gray Corvette ZR1 in the background. Although relegated to the role of extra, we appreciate that Corvette was in the mix, however briefly. Check out the video after the jump.
