They say time flies and it surely does. Twenty-one years ago, I registered the domain name for VetteFinders.com and the internet’s first Corvette-only classified ads website was born.
In those 21 years, we’ve helped thousands of people buy and sell their Corvettes!
The internet was a lot different back in 1996 and many things have changed. Back in the day, there was no image hosting and no real-time credit card processing. To place a classified ad, customers had to fill out a form, write a check and mail it in.
I hit the Internet Archive and grabbed this Version 1.0 screen shot from November 1996:
Today we have all that and more, with videos and social media helping to spread the word. But what hasn’t changed is our commitment to represent Corvette sellers with a safe and positive sales environment while working to attract the attention of potential Corvette buyers.
This blog was born from our experience with Corvettes and our classified ads website and without it, no way would CorvetteBlogger.com ever exist.
So tonight we will be celebrating “my first born” on his 21st birthday.
If you’re in the market to buy or sell a Corvette, visit us at www.VetteFinders.com.
As we stroll back memory lane, here is a video from 2003 when I appeared on a cable tv show called “Corvette The American Dream” with Mike from Ecklers. The video was shot from Rogers Corvette Center in Orlando.
