[ACCIDENT] Corvette Stingray Wacked by Dodge Durango in Four Car Pile Up

Here’s one way for a normally underdog Dodge Durango to win a “race” with a C7 Corvette Stingray.

After rear-ending this Blade Silver Corvette, the Durango just soared through the air and wound up in front of the Stingray in Highland Park, Ill., on Monday afternoon.

Four other vehicles were also involved in the accident, which happened at 4:36 p.m. in the westbound lane of Lake Cook Road, police said.

Fortunately, the accident’s bark seems to be worse than its bite, according to information from Sgt. Philip DeLaurentis of the Highland Park Police Department.

Only two people, a male and female from different vehicles, wound up being hurt, and their injuries are not considered life-threatening, though they were transported to the hospital by Highland Park and Northbrook paramedics.

The Durango landed on several other vehicles after going airborne and eventually wound up on its side. From the looks of photos taken at the scene, the Stingray suffered some pretty rough damage to its rear end, with much of the underlying structure exposed after body panels were knocked off.

The accident is still under investigation, DeLaurentis said, with no citations or charges filed yet. The officer declined to say whether speeding or drinking may have contributed to the crash.

Traffic was diverted around the area for nearly an hour while police investigated.
