Corvettes at Carlisle: GM Honors Carlisle Events on 30th Anniversary

With this weekend’s 30th Anniversary of Corvettes at Carlisle, GM honored Carlisle Events and Lance Miller with a special presentation prior to the start of the Corvette Team’s “What’s New on the 2012 Corvette” seminar on Friday afternoon.

On display at the Carlisle Fairgrounds Grandstand was the 2012 Corvette Grand Sport painted in Carlisle Blue. GM officially introduced the new color to those in attendance and then called Lance Miller up to the front where he was presented with a special poster.

The poster reads:

Standing Ovation for everything we love about Corvettes fans for 30 years. Congratulations on 30 years, Corvettes at Carlisle. As a token of our admiration, Chevrolet is introducing Carlisle Blue, available on all 2012 Corvette models. Thank You. Here’s to 30 more.

Presenting the poster were Corvette Team members Harlan Charles, Tadge Juechter, Kirk Bennion and Bowling Green Plant Manager Dave Tatman.

As this was my first visit to Carlisle, I can see why GM finds the show to be a premiere venue to mingle with their customers and get feedback on the Corvette lineup. The GM tent was busy throughout the days as the team members fielded questions, compliments as well as concerns and criticisms about America’s favorite sports car.

Happy anniversary, Corvettes at Carlisle and here’s to 30 more!

  1. I have to admit… I didnt think I would like that color.. :)) BUT LET ME TELL YOU… It does NOT photograph well… And this color is just BEAUTIFUL… And I think the white stripes make the car complete… and the new rims…. awesome… and the blue stitching on the interior… amazing….. YOU HAVE GOT TO SEE IT TO UNDERSTAND HOW PRETTY IT REALLY IS…

  2. I agree Sandra. What’s also interesting is how it looks different when the sun is on it vs when it’s indoors or overcast outside. Still not my favorite color, but it definitely grows on you.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  3. It looks really nice! I just wish GM had a similar racing stripe on the centennial edition, say in gold! After all the centennial was supposed to honor, as one of it’s themes, racing and the man who started Chevrolet. GM designers viewed black and white photos and came up with a blackish looking corvette with gray stickers!!! Wow that sucks!!
