Without a doubt, one of the most collectible Corvettes in Chevrolet’s 67-year run of the model is the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray Coupe. The famous split-window design was a one-year-only option and only 10,954 split-window coupes were produced. Today, restored examples of the SWCs can sell for big dollars.

Following the Roar at the 24 test session held earlier in the month, IMSA’s competition committee went to work on analyzing all the data collected and they have now handed down the final Balance of Performance (BoP) adjustments to the teams ahead of Saturday’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Here’s a huge catch by a Corvette enthusiast named Jim Lill who posted a photo and a video to Facebook of a camouflaged C8 Corvette widebody with an engine note that sure as shootin’ sounds like the C8.R’s flat-plane crank V8. The heavily-cladded Corvette prototype was spied out in California on Monday afternoon in the mountains east of San Diego.

On Monday, the 2020 Corvette was awarded the title of North American Car of the Year, and on Saturday, the first retail 2020 Corvette sold for $3 million at Barrett-Jackson to NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick. Meanwhile, the order books opened up on the new 2020 Corvette Stingray convertible this week. Back at Criswell’s sales lot, Mike Furman has been busy closing out the C7 model year with the deliveries of several new 2019 Corvettes. As always, he has a great collection of throwbacks including a few of Elfi Duntov back in the day. GM CEO Mary Barra rode onto the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale in a Torch Red 2020 Corvette Stingray that represents the first retail VIN 001 mid-engined Corvette to be produced. Mary headed up to the auction stage where she gave due credit to the team at Chevrolet for taking the Corvette to the next level. After a few brief remarks, she introduced a representative from the Detroit Children’s Fund, the charity that is the beneficiary of the VIN 001 Corvette auction.
