There was a pretty big brouhaha that broke out last week following a New York Times article about GM’s OnStar being used to track the driving habits of owners, and many may have not realized that their cars were spying on them. We already knew about the black boxes in modern day cars that police may look at to determine how fast you were going prior to an accident, and we figured GM uses the data to determine whether or not to decline warranty service calls. What we didn’t think is how GM would sell-out their customers for additional revenue.

Corvettes for Sale: 1969 Corvette with 427 CE Replacement V8 on eBay

In its early years, this low-option 1969 Corvette coupe was intended for one task: to go fast.

With a 427/390 horsepower engine under the hood of this race car, that definitely wasn’t a problem.

Finally, though, the day would come when the owner decided to move on and parked the car behind a shed in 1991. There it would remain for decades until finally being pulled out recently and offered at auction on eBay.

(March 16, 2024) – The No. 13 AWA Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R led the contingent of first-year GT3 Corvettes at the end of Saturday’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Cadillac. The trio of Orey Fidani, Matt Bell and Lars Kern placed ninth in a 22-car GT Daytona (GTD) field at Sebring International Raceway in the second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Our friends at Mobil 1 the Grid have a new video up profiling the all-new Corvette Z06 GT3.R racer. We hear from all the major players at GM Racing and Pratt Miller Motorsports about the new car, how it was designed, and then which components are straight off the assembly line in Bowling Green, and which needed to be fabricated. In the video is Laura Klauser and Christie Bagne from GM Racing, while Grant Browning, Saverio Leone, and Ben Johnson offer their input as members of Pratt Miller Motorsports.

I believe we’ve seen some of these quotes and clips before from Pratt Miller, but Mobil 1 the Grid always does a nice profile on Corvette Racing.
