Unofficial Production Total for the 2026 Corvette Model Year is 25,184

Chevrolet was expected to end production of the 2026 Corvette model year on Friday, May 29th and thanks to Roger Kiel’s unofficial C8 Production Tracker, we have the unofficial production totals by each model.

The National Corvette Museum will be releasing the official totals within the next few weeks, and these numbers can change slightly as the Assembly Plant adjusts the totals to include any pre-production CTF cars. As the 2026 model year had a substantial interior redesign, we expect to see a number of Captured Test Fleet (CTF) cars added. But until those official results are released, here is what we are seeing.

The 2026 model year was shorter than the calendar year and ran only 10 months. Chevrolet kicked off the 2026 model year on July 31, 2025 and production ran through May 29, 2026. Based on the ending VINs on Roger’s C8 tracker, a total of 25,184 Corvettes were completed.

Here’s the breakdown by model:

The Corvette Stingray shows 15,634 units completed for the model year and the share of Stingrays produced was 62%.
The Corvette Z06 had 6,550 units produced, making it 26% of total Corvette production.
The Corvette E-Ray had 1,177 units produced and it made up 4.7% of 2026 MY production.
The Corvette ZR1 reached 1,553 units produced for 6.2% of production.
The Corvette ZR1X had 270 units completed for 1.1% of production.

Currently we are in “Production Purgatory” as the 2026 production has wrapped up, and no Corvettes are being produced this week due to this being the final week of plant closures that were announced back in April to address several supplier constraints. The 2027 Model Year is expected to get underway on Monday, June 8th.

I’m surprised there are fewer E-Rays than ZR1’s. That will be my choice eventually, good to know how many there are for ’26..

Not surprised at all, Dave. I’ve stated that the reason is undoubtedly the v1.0 motors being “used up” and GM not wanting to build any more of the v1.0.

Since the ZR1X and the GSX will both use the v2.0 motor (and the v2.0 can presumably be used as a replacement for the v1.0, albeit with v1.0 output) it makes sense that GM has throttled 2026 ER to levels even below total 2024 total production (1351 vs. 1177 – GM Build Counts has 1049).

Flush out the old backstock, and only manufacture/keep stock of the new SKU’s replacing it.

Production of 25,000 shows that only the 3 percent richest and afford the Corvette’s. If you made them affordable GM and not like space ship’s,then you would have a large market. Seems to be a competition with Ford and the over 100,000 dollars Mustang as we move forward to another Recession.

John – One has to be careful not to flood specific market segments. Corvettes are not Chevy Malibu’s where gross production numbers are most important. What would you cut in C8 to make it “Malibu” affordable? Would it sell? 15,000 of the 25,000 C8s built in MY26 were Stingrays which cost about the same as commonly seen $100,000 SUVs and pickup trucks that are on the road today. So C8 price isn’t too bad.

Stingrays are not intended to be competition for Mustang GTDs. But Chevrolet makes ZR1s and ZR1Xs to keep them on their toes. Both of these Chevy offerings are more “affordable”. So, maybe you’d like to pick on Ford.
