What Did You Do with Your Corvette this Weekend?

Saturday morning for me included a Cars and Coffee event in South Tampa’s new Marina Shopping District. It’s a smaller event with the parking lot holding only around 60-70 vehicles, but it’s only 10 minutes from the house so it was a nice drive early this morning.

The organizers like to move the cars around a bit when you first come in so that similar cars are parked in groups. That makes for a couple of good photos of my car with some friends.

Of course, any event on Saturday is preceded by washing the car on Friday. But it’s always worth it when you see your car looking good in a crowd, as well as seeing people stopping to take a closer look at it.

Did you do anything interesting this Saturday or Sunday with your Corvette? Tell us about it in the comments below.

  1. Rain all day (a good thing) so no Corvette activities this weekend. Driving to Birmingham on the 14th for a show on the 15th.

  2. I’m the activities coordinator for the 3 Rivers Corvette Club located in the Tri-Cities of southeastern Washington.

Seven Club Corvettes took a mystery cruise (destination known only to me) to the historic town of Roslyn, Washington, where we had lunch in the Brick Tavern (established 1889) that was featured in the former TV series “Northern Exposure.” Most of the filming of series episodes were filmed in Rosly. It’s a small town that formerly hosted steel miners who mined ore in the area for use in U.S. steel production.

  3. Went to Katie’s Cars and Coffee in Great Falls VA. One of the biggest on the east coast. On a nice day generally 400-500 cars. Always lots of Corvettes of course, but a wide variety. Highlight today was a 1929 Model A Pickup fully restored.

  4. For the last 20 years, a group of us Corvette Buddies meet for breakfast every Friday, year ’round. Then on the weekend, weather permitting, we go on a “Hot Dog Run” in our Corvettes together, which usually turns into a 50-75 mile ride in and around South Jersey, including a lunch.

  5. The big event in Indy today was the annual Chevy Customer Appreciation Event where we drive our Vettes on the IMS road course and later watch the Grand Prix race for Indycars from Chevrolet’s private suite on the main stretch.

  6. Went to the Cars and Coffee at Rock n’ Brews in Oviedo, FL with my C5. Keith, it’s the 2nd Saturday of every month. You should check it out some time!

  7. Sat. 9th Rain enjoyed home.
Sun. 10th Cloudy, Church drive, Mother’s Day cemetery visit, lunch at my favorite restaurant,
gas station fill up, return home.

  8. On Saturday I took my Corvette to a cruise in at a high school near my house. Next Saturday I’m driving it to Cars and Coffee and on May 23 I’m putting it in an all Corvette show at a winery.

  9. I went to a car show in Dallas. There was coffee, donuts, and a lot of friendly people in a picturesque setting. Inparked next to my friend who has number 5 of 30 of the quail edition.

  10. I did what you’re supposed to do: I went for a 300 joy ride! Driving them to shows and Cars and Coffee once a week… as a good friend ( who owns 7 Vettes and drives them all ) said “you’re just keeping it nice for the next guy when you’re gone “

  11. Here in Canada, bringing Corvettes out of winter storage can take longer. That being said, Saturday I washed / detailed my ’93 Vette in preparation for the coming car shows this summer.

  12. 2017 the punisher.I have heard this is what I own.I was offered $78000 for it from a dealer here in Denver,Colorado.
