Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
Mike was out at Spring Mountain most of the week as he hosted multiple Corvette owners at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School, and it included the inaugural class of ZR1 owners! Check out the posts on Facebook to see the videos and photos. He did help with one special delivery from the NCM while he was away, and of course you can always count on him to share a great collection of throwback and vintage photos for your scrolling pleasure. I think mine this week is the 1963 SWC that went camping…or is it called “Glamping” these days?

~March 31st, 2026~The first (51st overall) Corvette Furman’s owners school is in the books. Fun was certainly had by all and everyone learned a lot. April 1st and 2nd will be my 52nd,53rd and 54th Corvette owners schools that I’ve hosted over the last 12 years. Tonight was the 2nd Pizza dinner that I held this week for a total of 40 of my Corvette clients. “James Taylor” even attended my dinner this evening but without his guitar! Tomorrow will be the very first C8 ZR1 classes and I will be behind the wheel for two days along with 5 other ZR1 owners. Also running will be Stingray and Z06 owners. I posted a pic from 2008 when I tested the C6 ZR1’s here in Pahrump and I also did the C7 ZR1 school back in 2019 so the C8 ZR1 school that I will experience this week will complete the 3rd ZR1 generation in a row trilogy.
~4/1/26~ The very first day of the very first C8 ZR1 Ron Fellows Corvette owners school here at Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada has been completed. I must say that as impressive as it is to travel down the East Track straightaway with 1,064 horsepower at 155 mph, it’s more incredible how quick and smooth the brakes are from 100-0! My hats off to the engineers at GM for the C8 ZR1! Coming or going this 8th generation ZR1 is a World Class Sports car in every way. Now only if GM would build more ZR1’s and the parts suppliers supply the parts necessary. 4 of the 6 ZR1 drivers chose the exact color ZR1 that they own back at home. Funny how that works out!
I look forward to being back on track tomorrow morning/afternoon! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s results and experience as I have high expectations. This is my 54th class of my Criswell Corvette customers that I’ve hosted here at the private club known as Spring Mountain Motor Sports Club and yes the Guard at the gate thinks I’m a member…sssshhh, don’t say anything please!
~4/2/26~My last day is in the books for the very first C8 ZR1 Ron Fellows Corvette owners school. I ran several low 1:12’s and a few low 1:13’s on the East track with the Riptide Blue ZR1 car#409. Overall very consistent. The ZR1 weighs approximately 450lbs more than the Stingray so in the Autocross I only timed out at 32.8 seconds, almost came across the finish line sideways. All 40 of my Criswell Corvette customers had an absolute blast so we had a successful week here at Spring Mountain racetrack. Big Thank you to the entire staff on site and off for making my Criswell customers at home for their accommodations and class time.

~This is what happens when plans for a Corvette Museum delivery turns into an enclosed trailer delivery with Plycar trucking. I coordinated the change from Spring Mountain racetrack in Nevada for Robert B’s 2026 ZR1X to be shipped to Marco Island, Florida. The Museum staff did a wonderful job with the prep and assistance and in sending me pictures etc as always, Plycar showed up bright and early and the results are in…Solid 10 on the execution all around. Much thanks for the seamless experience by the National Corvette Museum and Plycar trucking.

I’m curious, when will you guys have the 2027 C8 Grand Sport X to order a build one for myself? I’ve been looking everyday but have not discovered such.
My favorite is the super slick looking White C2 with the knock off wheels & factory side pipes.
Three favs. The ’59 by the lake. the ’62 at sunset, and the Model Motoring add. Had a Model Motoring set when I was a kid, such memories.
Hi Barry. We are still waiting for Chevy to release pricing and the Order Guide before we see the Grand Sport and GSX up on the official Build & Buy Configurator. Once that happens, orders shouldn’t be too far behind.
I like the pics of the two C3 Corvettes with the aftermarket Mako Shark II body kits. I also like the ad for the Model Motoring slot car set.
