Corvettes for Sale: Supercharged 427 CI 1969 Corvette Stingray Offered on eBay

It’s hard to believe, but the owner of this black 1969 supercharged Corvette coupe says he has never raced the car, despite having an estimated 600 to 700 horses pouring out from under and then soaring above the hood.

Now, though, he’s decided to pass this one-of-a-kind Stingray to a new owner, putting it up for sale on eBay, where nine bids have climbed to $11,500 with the auction slated to close on Tuesday night.

Under that long, shark nose hood sits a 1969 427 big block, but don’t let the year fool you—this thing is no museum piece. A towering Weiand 8-71 supercharger shoves air into 10:1 compression chambers, delivering an estimated 600–700 horsepower depending on boost and fuel. It’s the kind of setup that makes grown men grin and small children cover their ears.

Backing the big block is a race built TH350, complete with a slap shifter and a 3.80 rear gear that keeps the revs right where the blower wants them. Electric fans, a transmission cooler, and both brake lock and trans lock features round out a drivetrain that’s equal parts brutal and bulletproof.

Despite the blower, the gear, and the attitude, this T-top Stingray is shockingly streetable. The current owner never raced it—just cruised it around town, soaking up the attention that follows a supercharged C3 like exhaust fumes.

Even better, the body and chassis remain uncut and unmolested. No tubs. No hacked fiberglass. No “race car first, Corvette second” compromises. Just pure, original Stingray lines wrapped around a powerplant that absolutely does not care about subtlety.

The paint? Strong, glossy, and show ready from 10 feet—exactly what you want on a car that already steals every eyeball in the parking lot. The seller calls it the most complimented car they’ve ever owned, and honestly, how could it not be?

  1. I came across this life sized Hot Wheels Corvette earlier on eBay and I really like it! I don’t like though that it doesn’t have the rocker panel moldings on it that I presume is because of the side exhaust.
