Corvettes for Sale: One-Owner 1969 Corvette 427 Convertible Offered with No Reserve on eBay

After 57 years with the same family, this big block 1969 Corvette convertible is finally looking for a new home.

It’s currently up for no reserve bidding on eBay, where the top offer among 31 bids has reached $25,000 with the auction set to wrap up Sunday night. Letting go of a family heirloom like this can’t be easy, but after spending the last two decades tucked away in a barn, maybe it’s time for someone else to unlock the potential of this second year C3.

And with a 427 under the hood, there’s plenty of potential to tap.

The original big block didn’t survive the early ’70s—it failed and was replaced at the dealership in 1972. The current engine is believed to be an L36, rated at 390 horsepower and 460 lb ft of torque. It’s still paired with the Corvette’s original automatic transmission, which the seller says shifts properly through all gears.

After its long hibernation, the car was pulled from storage, revived, and brought back to running condition. As of March 15, the seller reports that it starts easily, runs smoothly, and shows no knocking, a promising sign for a car that’s been dormant for so long.

The Corvette was repainted in the late 1990s. It left the factory in LeMans Blue, but now wears a slightly different blue with a subtle green tint—an attractive match to the white soft top. The biggest cosmetic flaw is an eight inch crack in the front clip between the pop up headlights. The paint still “shines nicely for its age,” but anyone aiming for show quality would likely want a fresh respray.

Inside, the blue vinyl interior remains completely original. It shows the expected wear of a 57 year old survivor: a small rip in the passenger seat and a few minor age related tears. The door panels, dash pad, and trim pieces are all intact and described as being in “very good” condition.

The seller says the undercarriage and birdcage are solid and rust free, and all original glass remains in excellent condition—always reassuring on a C3 that spent years in storage.

To get the car road ready, the seller suggests:

• Carburetor rebuild
• New tires
• Full tune up

Nothing unexpected for a Corvette emerging from long term slumber.

“This is an honest, largely original 1969 Corvette convertible that can be enjoyed as a driver today or taken to the next level with a full frame off restoration,” the seller writes, noting that long term family owned cars like this are becoming harder and harder to find.
