Congratulations to Kirk Bennion on receiving his new C8 Corvette ZR1!
You would think it would have been a relatively easy process for the former Exterior Design Manager for Corvette to get one of the coveted new C8 ZR1s, but he ended up having to make some tough decisions like many of us when the ordering process is impacted by constraints.
According to our friends at MECF, Kirk actually had an order in for one of the first 2025 ZR1s, but when his allocation was offered for a car without the aero package, he declined it. That was last fall, but the waiting appears to have finally paid off as we see this photo of him posted with the Black Corvette ZR1 Coupe from Serra Chevrolet in Sterling Heights. His build features the ZR1’s Blue Stripe, Edge Blue Forged Aluminum Wheels, and of course, the ZR1’s full Visible Carbon Fiber Aero Package.
Kirk has always been a fan of track and autocross driving and has served as a lead instructor at many High Performance Driving Events (HPDE) in the Detroit area. Currently, he is working for Racing Sport Concepts which offers a line of high-quality visible carbon fiber aero and accessories for C8 Corvettes and other luxury brands.

Congrats Kirk on your well specced out ZR1!
Congratulations Kirk, nice one !
Very nice in black – enjoy it! However for the rest of us that like a body color car in a convertible, we don’t like the black “A” pillars, black roof and black nacelles that give the undesirable impression that ZR1s were all half burnt down in a car fire. Those parts remind some others of the 1970s look of a vinyl roof… ugh.
Get the word out to exterior design or anyone else at GM to make that half-black “look” an option like it used to be.
