It’s not every day you come across a 1978 Corvette with a four-speed manual transmission.

After all, only 3,385 of the 46,776 cars built that year forced you to shift gears yourself. That means just 7% of all 1978 Corvette are equipped with the M21 4-Speed manual transmission.

Adding to the rarity of this car being offered for $16,985 on Craigslist out of Cleveland, Ohio is the Corvette Dark Blue paint, one of only 2,084. It’s a good match with the dark blue leather interior.

The senior owner has enjoyed the car for many years sand says it’s been very well maintained, including newer brakes, exhaust, tires, and battery.

He says it’s a “very tight” car and runs, shifts, and drives “perfectly.”

With only 60,000 “actual” miles, the car features power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning, and the sometimes troublesome hidden vacuum headlight covers have been upgraded with electric motors.

Calling it “extremely nice” overall, the owner believes his car “needs nothing” and is “absolutely ready to enjoy,” especially with the T-Tops removed in nice weather.

He’s open to trades of all sorts, including a low-mile C5 or C6, a “nice original low-mile” C4, a T-bucket hot rod, classic or muscle car, ’70s Town Car or Cadillac Fleetwood, lower-mile Hummer H2, lower-mile Cadillac Escalade EXT truck, various two-wheel motorcycles – but he draws the line at watercraft, projects, or junk offers.
