The driver of this black C8 Corvette coupe had to be airlifted for treatment after crashing in a field in California over the weekend.
The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday near the resort Alisal Ranch, south of Solvang in the 1000 block of Alisal Road.
Ironically, images from the scene don’t seem to show much damage to the car, at least on the passenger side, after it left the pavement and breached a metal fence before coming to a halt about 100 feet from the road.
The driver was the only person in the car and suffered moderate to major injuries, according to a report on edhat.com. He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by a CalStar helicopter that landed in a field near the site of the accident.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies, AMR ambulance, and county firefighters responded to the scene. Authorities say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Looks like minor damage. Surprised he had to be air-lifted with no more apparent damage seen in the photos.
Should have bought a Jeep.
