October 13th, 1962. Carroll Shelby rolls out his V8-powered, AC-bodied roadster with one goal: to win at Riverside, California. Bill Krause, at one time an F1 hopeful, was at the wheel of the one Shelby Cobra. But there was a serious obstacle for Shelby and Krause, namely, several Chevrolet Corvettes with tenured pilots. Most notably, Bob Bondurant, Doug Hooper, Dave MacDonald, and Jerry Grant hit the track in the Corvettes. Ultimately, it was Hooper who won the race in one of the Chevrolet Corvettes!
~The Cobras must have been impressive. Bob Bondurant, Dave MacDonald, and Jerry Grant were soon to be Shelby American drivers.
I certainly can appreciate the beauty of the lines on these two rare GT’s…not Corvettes and that’s OK.

He moved to Texas and decided to trade in his 23 Z and factory ordered a Red Mist 2026 Corvette Z06 convertible, Corvette #6 that he has bought from me. All his NJ deliveries he made sure to bring me bagels and cannolis. Now that he lives in Texas he sent me a Stetson hat, what a beauty too! I love your Throw Back photos. I grew up with all the generation of Vette’s and you make my heart race every time I see a ’56/57. I currently have a 2017 Z06 and feel the C7 design will forever be judged as the best of the front engine Vette’s. The kid in me still remembers when the ’57 came to the show room. Oh man what a visual masterpiece. Thanks

My favourites this week include the maroon ’65 or ’66 pulling the small travel trailer, the Grand Sport on the dock in Nassau, and the funky paint job on the light blue C3!
My 2024 Corvette has 6000 miles had the air conditioning. Go out The transmission doesn’t shift properly, and the connectivity isn’t allowing a hotspot. It’s been in the dealership for 60 days and GM is not standing behind it. Don’t buy a new Corvette.
