The Annual Spring Big Boy Toy Auction Featuring 11 Corvettes Set for May 2-3

Our good friends over at Freije and Freije are putting the final touches on their annual Spring Big Boy Toy auction. Their two-day sale will run this Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd. Sales begin at noon on Friday in French Lick, Indiana.

Once again, they’ve assembled an eclectic roster of collector cars, memorabilia, antiques, and more. No matter what you’re on the hunt for, you’ll likely find it this weekend in Indiana. The vehicle docket includes 242 rides seeking new ownership. Of those, we find 11 Corvettes covering generations 1, 3, 4, and 7. The Corvettes represent model years 1954 through 2019 and range from entry level collectibles to fully restored classics.

Included in the auction are three Corvettes previously owned by Jamey and Misty Noel that were seized and ordered liquidated in one of Indiana’s most infamous cases of public corruption. These cars, a C7 Corvette ZR1, 1958 Fuelie, and a 1959 Corvette are all offered at No Reserve. The disgraced former county sheriff was charged with using public funds to amass his car collection and other luxury items. He pleaded guilty to 27 felonies ranging from theft and fraud in October 2024 and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Here’s a look at a few of our favorites crossing the block this weekend.

Lot 22088: 2019 Corvette ZR1 Coupe – No Reserve

Offered from the Jamey Noel No Reserve Collection is this Storm Trooper-spec 2019 Corvette ZR1 Coupe is #1,735 of the 2,953 made in the final year of front engine Corvette production. It’s one of 228 ZR1s finished in the Arctic White over black configuration. The 755hp supercharged LT7 routes its power through an 8-speed paddle shift automatic transmission. It’s equipped with the top-end 3ZR option package and includes desirable features such as blue interior stitching, carbon fiber roof panel, carbon flash wheels, GT seats, and more. Most notably it features the coveted ZTK performance package with upgraded aero, the massive rear wing, and carbon ceramic brakes.

This 7th generation ZR1 shows just 10,660 miles from new and is offered without reserve. The sale includes a window sticker, a clean car fax, and matching luggage set.

With less than 3,000 examples to go around, this is a unique opportunity to take home the ultimate C7 Corvette at no reserve. Online prebidding is already underway and has reached $57,000 as we write this post.

Lot 22035: 1958 Panama Yellow Big Brake Fuelie – No Reserve


Corvette’s first generation continued its evolution in 1958. The body was widened and lengthened while we also saw quad headlights for the first time. Chevrolet also added a stylish louvered hood and twin chrome spears on the trunk for a more upscale appearance.

This Panama Yellow over black 1958 convertible is also offered at No Reserve from the Jamey Noel Collection. It’s powered by the RPO 579D 290hp variant of the fuel injected 327 engine which is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The white coves are complemented by a coordinating yellow hardtop. Gray wheels with dog dish hub caps complete the look of this racy C1 Corvette.


If you wanted a Corvette for the track in 1958, you ordered a potent fuel injected engine and the RPO 684, “Heavy Duty Brakes and Suspension” option. With that, you had the ultimate Corvette of that time. Only 144 of the 9,168 cars (1.5% of production) built that year were born with the heavy-duty brake and suspension option in 1958.

Online pre-bidding is already underway with 42 bids entered. The high bid stands at $8,500 and will surely increase many times over before the no reserve hammer falls in French Lick.

Lot 22046: 1954 Red Custom Convertible


Early Corvettes weren’t known for earth shaking power or comfort. Options and color choices were slim as well. As the automotive aftermarket took off, so did owners’ imaginations now that they could tweak their rides just the way they wanted to.

This 1954 custom embodies the restomod mantra of classic styling with modern amenities. It’s powered by a C4-era LT1 engine mated to an automatic transmission. Added convenience items include power steering, power brakes, and even air conditioning. Timeless 17-inch American Racing wheels are wrapped in Continental tires and hide 4-wheel disc brakes. The tan interior features leather seats, seat belts, and a stylish two-tone steering wheel.
