[VIDEO] Corvette Mike Dives Into the History of the 'Finest' 1963 Corvette Split Window Ever Offered

Earlier this week we brought you the current Bring a Trailer auction featuring Corvette Mike’s Black/Black 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe. That auction runs through tomorrow and currently the car has a high bid of $275,000.

Following the posting of our article, Corvette Mike Vietro took to YouTube to show off the Black Corvette and its fine attributes, and he shares the complete history of it including how the original owner named Ken Simmons came to visit Corvette Mike back in 1987, and how Mike came to finally acquire the Split Window from the original owner’s widow.

This Corvette Sting Ray Sport Coupe has won multiple awards over the years, including those first NCRS events where the car was shown by Ken with the assistance of Corvette Mike’s Anaheim shop. After Mike purchased the car in 2013, it underwent a full frame-off restoration. Afterwards, Mike started the process of having the car judged once again, culminating with the ’63 Corvette receiving the prestigious Duntov Mark of Excellence performance verification award with a 99+ score.

Black on black, original drivetrain, original down to its dated shocks. This is the pinnacle and the icon of the American Sports Car…Corvette.”
