Corvettes for Sale: 1969 Corvette with a 350 V8 and a 4-Speed Manual on Bring a Trailer

Some body designs are made for certain colors. This 1969 Corvette convertible seems destined to be one such car, with its Daytona Yellow paint with nicely accenting black soft top and black interior.

After undergoing a frame-off restoration a quarter of a century ago, this second-year Stingray is now being offered on Bring a Trailer out of Canada. So far, interest has been slight, with the high bid hitting just $6,000, but activity is just getting underway as there are still six days left in the auction.

The seller bought the car in 2024 and says he believes the frame-off restoration included the installation of a new frame from Arizona. Some observers wonder if the birdcage was replaced at that time, too, but we aren’t told for sure. The current owner thinks the car started out in Boston and eventually made its way to Canada where it was restored.

The 25-year-old paint job appears to have held up well, based on the photos included with the listing, with about the only flaw we were able to spot being what seems to be a small scratch on the rear decklid.

The black vinyl interior looks to be in similar condition, with the only reported flaw being that the AM/FM radio is no longer functional.

No real worries since the rumble of the original 350/300 hp engine is the real sound the new owner will likely want to hear most, as he or she rolls through the gears with the aftermarket shifter that’s been hooked to the original four-speed manual transmission.

Equipped with a four-barrel Rochester carburetor, the engine has covered only 1,000 miles since it was rebuilt, the seller points out.

We always liked the side vents on a ’69 better than any early C3, though the photo angles of these show off the ugly screws that hold them in place, something I don’t remember ever noticing before.

Still, that wouldn’t keep me from enjoying this chrome-bumper beauty. How about you?

  1. Not a bad looking car and nicely optioned for a Sunday cruiser. If the bidding doesn’t get too crazy, it could make a great entry level car for someone looking to get into the magical world of Corvettes. I have been involved with these beauties for 60 years and don’t regret a minute of it.
