Just gorgeous Mr. Kindig!
your sense of style is “second to none”.
I am a huge fan. “Bitchin”.

Hey Everybody – If I ever won the Powerball or Mega Million, I would love a new CF1 from Dave Kindig!
So I sent him a request for my version using a Copper colored pearl exterior as I am a native of Arizona and a copper pearl would look outrageous. The 1955 Corvette offered a Copper color so I thought it would be appropriate for Dave to use a new pearl version of Copper.
Here is a copy of the 2 emails:
To Kindig Design In Salt Lake City:
AFTER JUST WATCHING AND RECORDING FROM MOTORTREND TV THE TWO EPISODES OF HOW THE FIRST AND SECOND MODELS OF THE CF1 ROADSTER WERE BUILT AND GIVEN TO RICK AND DAVE JUST NEXT DOOR TO ME IN PARADISE VALLEY AND CAREFREE, I WOULD LIKE TO PURSUE THE PURCHASE OF THIS GREAT HOT ROD WITH A FEW CONCEPTS THAT MAKE THIS VEHICLE JUST THAT MORE SPECIAL.
USING YOUR STANDARD CF1 MODEL SPECIFICATIONS – HERE ARE MY IDEAS IF POSSIBLE TO ADD OR REVISE THE ROADSTER.
1. USE A TREMEC SUPER MAGNUM 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION WITH CENTERFORCE CLUTCH – NO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, PLEASE
ALL OF MY 4 OTHER CORVETTES ARE ALL MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS, THIS NEW 2024 CORVETTE E-RAY IS AN AUTOMATIC WHICH IS SAD FOR CORVETTES. SO, PLEASE IF POSSIBLE EITHER A REAR MOUNT LIKE MODERN CORVETTES OR ENGINE MOUNT TRANSMISSION LIKE THE CF1 HAS NOW.
2. THE LINGENFELTER ENGINE AND BORLA INJECTION SYSTEM IS GREAT, BUT THOSE STACKS NEED A K&N OILED GAUZE AIR FILTER AS I WOULD DRIVE THIS CF1 ALL OVER CENTRAL AND NORTHERN ARIZONA WHEN THERE IS NO RAIN ANYWHERE IN THE SOUTHWEST U.S. – PLUS OUR AIR AND ROADS AROUND SCOTTSDALE ARE ALWAYS DUSTY.
3. WOULD THERE BE AN OPTION SOON FOR A NEW AIR SUSPENSION FROM RIDE-TECH USING SHOCKWAVE SHOCKS, A SMALL ALUMINUM CUSTOM SHAPED AIR TANK IN THE TOP LEVEL OF THE TRUNK WITH THEIR HANDHELD RIDE ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM? IT WOULD BE GREAT TO LOWER THAT VEHICLE AT A SHOW AND THEN DRIVE OFF WITH A FEW INCHES OF TRAVEL IN THE SHOCKS. PLUS IT MAKES SENSE TO CUSHION THE SUSPENSION AND CAR OVER NASTY ROADS AND HIGHWAYS IN ARIZONA.
4. MY COLOR CHOICE IS FROM THE BEAUTIFUL 1955 CORVETTE CALLED SIMPLY “COPPER”, BUT WITH A TWIST. MY VERSION OF THIS COPPER WOULD BE ALL PEARL BASE COATS WITH NO METALLIC USED TO CREATE A SUPER COOL VERSION OF COPPER THAT LOOKS DEEP AND SIMMERING IN THE SUN.
HERE IS A COPPER FROM HOUSE OF KOLOR CALLED
S2-06 METEOR MAROON FX KARRIER BASE WITH FX PAC’S:
PPG RADIANCE COLOR CREAM-CYCLE 908326
1955 FACTORY CORVETTE “COPPER”:
PLUS LOTS, 3 OR 4 COATS OF THE HARDEST CLEARCOATS KNOWN TO THE INDUSTRY, I WAS ALWAYS TOLD THE MERCEDES FACTORY CLEARCOAT IS THE BEST TO PREVENT ANY SMALL ROCK CHIPS THAT USUALLY HAPPEN AROUND HERE ON A DAILY BASIS, WE LIVE IN THE DESERT WITH LOTS OF DIRT AND ROCKS ON THE STREETS.
5. ALL OF THE INTERIOR LEATHER IS JUST SUEDE, NO SMOOTH TANNED GRAIN LEATHER AS YOU HAVE FROM JUSTIN ON JUST ABOUT EVERY VEHICLE. THE MAIN CONCEPT IS THE POSSIBLE COOLER TEMPS WHEN THE INTERIOR IS IN THE SUN AT A RALLY OR EVENT THAT SUEDE MAY OFFER OVER SMOOTH LEATHER.
THE SEATS BACK AND BOTTOM CAN HAVE A PERFORATED PATTERN BUT WITH A SPECIAL CONCEPT. FIND, BUY OR STEAL A HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM FOR THE BACK AND BOTTOMS OF THE SEATS SO I CAN DRIVE AROUND TOWN WITHOUT DYING FROM OUR 90 DEGREE PLUS DAYS.
THE COLOR I WOULD USE TO BLEND WITH A COPPER PEARL EXTERIOR IS A LIGHT EGGNOG OR PALE CREAM, ASTON-MARTIN HAS A COLOR FOR LEATHER INTERIORS CALLED COPPER TAN METALLIC WHICH IS LIGHTER THAN NORMAL SADDLE TAN. I WILL LOVE SOME COLOR THAT NOBODY HAS.
HERE IT IS:
6. A KILLER BUT HIDDEN SOUND SYSTEM USING JUST A USB STICK BLUETOOTH PLAYER HIDDEN IN THE GLOVE BOX WITH MB QUART SPEAKERS THAT ARE BEHIND A CHROMED SLOTTED SPEAKER GRILL AND NO ANTENNAS. I LISTEN TO JAZZ AND BLUES WITH LOTS OF BASS FOR SOME COOL SOUNDS,
SOME TYPE OF VIPER ALARM SYSTEM THAT IS ALSO HIDDEN BUT WORKS LIKE A MODERN DAY CORVETTE WITH A KEYFOB TO TURN ON THE SYSTEM WHEN WE’RE AT A SHOW OR CRUISE. MAYBE A HIDDEN LOUD SIREN THAT GOES OFF WHEN SOMEBODY TOUCHES THE PAINT WILL BE NICE.
7. IS THERE ANY CONVERSATION ABOUT A CLOTH TOP FOR EMERGENCY RAIN STORMS OR WASHING THE CAR WITH A NORMAL HOSE AND SUDS IN MY DRIVEWAY? CORVETTE CENTRAL HAS ONE MADE BY FERGUSON FOR 1953-1957 CORVETTES, Part # 101005 / COSTS – $259.95:
WELL, I’M GOING TO BARRETT-JACKSON SCOTTSDALE IN OCTOBER AND AGAIN IN JANUARY TO SEE THE CF1 ROADSTERS THAT WILL BE FOR AUCTION TO GET MORE JAZZED UP ABOUT THIS GREAT CORVETTE CONCEPT.
PLEASE SEND ME SPECS, COSTS AND ANY INFO ABOUT THE CF1 THAT IS NOT IN THE WEBSITE OR SEEN ON THE EPISODES THAT I HAVE WATCHED A FEW TIMES.
THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR GENIUS IN TAKING OUR BELOVED FIRST CORVETTES INTO A RIDLER WINNER WITH THE BEAUTIFUL CF1 CONCEPT.
JEFF
Response from Kindig Design:
Hey Jeff,
Thanks for reaching out. Please see what our CF1’s include below. Now, since these are complete carbon fiber bodies (one solid piece) there is not much room for changing what we already have. We can definitely discuss these options with Dave, maybe, and see if some of these are feasible.
We have our own paint line and are partners with Sikkens/Akzonobel. So, we would solely use their line of hardeners/paint.
We also have a contract with Lingenfleter for our CF1 engines. So, that would not change unless our contract with them changes.
The alarm system, seat heaters, and change to the Audio would be something that we most likely would not do. But, we can discuss with Dave if you would like to move forward.

SO, FOR $450,000 US, DAVE KINDIG WILL BUILD YOU A CF1 BUT DON’T ASK FOR ANYTHING YOU MIGHT NEED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE.
THANKS FOR LISTENING!
Jeffery Thomas – that is one helluva wish list you got there mate. The dark blue CF1 pictured with Dave is the best looking one I’ve seen so far.
They do some killer work, but unfortunately like many shows that start out great don’t stay that way. Dave and Kev have gotten way full of themselves and it’s ruined the show, getting so conceited has kept me from watching much anymore. I myself would spend that money elsewhere. Come on Dave, a half a mill??
