All the king’s horses and all the king’s men may not have been able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
But Roger of Roger’s Hot Rod Garage and his team are confident they can definitely put this slightly “cracked” 1966 Corvette coupe back together once more.
You can watch the first few hours of all the hard work that lies ahead on this YouTube video as Roger heads to a shocking location – Hockenheim, Germany – in a pretty cool LS-powered 1955 Nomad to pick up the Corvette, which had made its way overseas in 2015 from an owner in Kentucky.

Over the past nine years, the well-intentioned owner has methodically taken parts off the car, put them on nearby shelves, and then returned to take off even more parts and repeat the process – unfortunately never quite finding the time or inclination to reverse the process, however.
That means Roger and helper must first get the Sting Ray in rolling condition before taking it home to begin the restoration project.

It looks like a previous owner spent some time adding his own custom touches as the car features an extra taillight on each side (though naturally they are placed nearby in a neat line on the floor now) and fender flares that miraculously are actually already attached to the body!
Inside, those custom features are in much better condition, with the diamond tufted black leather seats and door panels so common in the ’60s still looking pretty slick.

While the car came with a more powerful version of the base 327 (this numbers-matching engine capable of 350 horsepower), Roger already has acquired a kit to increase the performance even more.
Even in its rough fashion, as it’s being pulled on a trailer behind the baby blue and white nomad, the lines of this classic Corvette are still stunning. We can’t wait to see the finished product and wish a speedy road to many happy hours of cruising for Roger and his crew!

He is located in Germany as I understand it, so it is not as wild as it seems.
Alexander – the way this article is headlined and written made it unclear to me that the dude lives in Germany. Also I didn’t watch the video because I didn’t want to waste 33 minutes and 25 seconds of my life that I can’t get back from watching a video that didn’t interest me.
