Corvettes Spanning Decades, Special Guests, Significant Displays, and More

Corvettes at Carlisle is THE show of shows for Corvette lovers around the world and the 2024 offering is no different. Slated for August 22-24 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, this year’s event turns back to the clock by showcasing Corvette Challenge Cars, 50 Years of the 1974 Corvette, “mean Corvettes,” Corvette car clubs, track activities, and more.

Gates open at 7 AM for the world’s largest all-Corvette-themed car show and along the way, showcases the past, present, and future of America’s Sports Car; the Corvette. One of the more popular displays is one focused on the Corvette Challenge Car. Popular in 1988 and 1989, the Challenge Car Series showcased matched Corvettes backed by various sponsors and piloted by a plethora of skilled drivers. These cars, and the drivers for that matter, are still a popular draw and every few years, Corvettes at Carlisle gives them the VIP treatment. In addition to the cars in 2024, Corvettes at Carlisle plans to welcome a handful of the drivers too, with Peter Lockhart confirmed, and others in discussion to be at the event.

1974 celebrates its 50th Anniversary

1974 Corvettes also take center stage, as a handful of display tents will populate the Aerolarri Wheels Fun Field and celebrate 50 years of the popular C3. Dozens of ‘74s will park side by side to be showcased by their proud owners. Don’t miss a year of Corvettes that had certain manufacturers’ specs unique to only this model year, be it original, restored, or well-loved. A nice variety of ‘74s are planned for this 50th retrospective.

Chip’s Choice is also a popular showcase each summer at Carlisle, with a different theme taking center stage within Building T. This year, the theme of “mean Corvettes” is on tap. By adding a few choice features such as a teethy front grill or incredible aerodynamic features to the Corvette’s already sharp, angry lines, it’s easy to see why a quick glance in the rear-view would give the impression of a crafted force to be reckoned with. This “mean” look is a can’t miss in August.

Win Lance Miller's 1959 Corvette Restomod

In addition to the special displays, Corvettes at Carlisle will have two amazing vehicles on display that could be won via sweepstakes and/or raffle. First, in partnership with the Lancaster County Corvette Club, the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation makes available a 2024 Stingray 2LT. Tickets are $150 each, with 1,000 available and tied to the Pennsylvania Lottery’s 7 PM “Pick 3” on Saturday, August 24. Proceeds benefit the CMAF and Claire House. But wait…there’s more. The CMAF will also showcase and offer opportunities for a 1959 Corvette Restomod. This gem comes directly from the Miller family’s private collection. By opting into this sweepstakes, hopeful winners are not only supporting a great cause in the CMAF but could be the next owner of the ’59 on October 5.
