This 1964 Corvette Sting Ray resto-mod certainly checks all the right boxes for this writer, and apparently for a lot of other enthusiasts out there as well.
Featuring a supercharged 6.2-liter GM LT4 V8 crate engine, this vintage C2 is on the market on Bring a Trailer and has already seen the high bid soar to $75,000, and we’ve still got six more days of likely feverish activity lurking ahead.

The car features a stunning Silver Blue repaint over the original identical shade, along with rechromed bumpers, 17″ and 18″ Budnick Murock IV wheels, and 225/50 front and 235/50 rear Nitto NT555 G2 tires completing the exterior look. Don’t forget the ’65-’66 style hood, too – originally chosen by the seller for its looks but ultimately necessary for enough supercharger clearance.
Other mechanical upgrades begin with a chassis modified by RR Frames of Montana to allow a retrofitted four-wheel independent suspension and brakes from a C4. Other features include a Wilwood brake master cylinder, power steering, 4L75 four-speed automatic transmission, Dana 44 Rear axle with a 3.45:1 limited-slip differential, and dual Borla exhaust system.
The new engine has a 1.7-liter Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger that helps create a whopping 640 horsepower. The build also includes a replacement wiring harness, BeCool aluminum radiator, and Rick’s Tank fuel tank. By the way, the seller points out that the builder has “plenty of experience building resto-mods with LS and LT conversions,” having done nearly 100 cars in similar fashion.
Inside, this Sting Ray really shines, too, beginning with the beautiful blue leather and suede seats, with matching door panels and headliner. We really like the quality of the new carpet, too, and that center console with integrated cupholders is a nice – and functional – touch.
In the video, watch for the new Dakota Digital gauges that digital readouts at the bottom of the analog speedometer and tachometer. Occupants also will enjoy the Classic Auto air conditioning system, cruise control, and JL Audio stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.

Nice car. Have to wonder if you took the money spent on the resto and just restored the car to original, which will have more value in 10 years. Probably a larger market for being in original shape.
Those wheels are kind of a hate crime. They would probably look better in 15″ and 16″ with the same diameter tires.
10 years from now everyone is going to be doing EV conversions. Gasoline is on it’s way to being outlawed here.
