Earlier this week we were happy to announce our friends at ACS Composite have released their Rock Guards for the C8 Corvette Z06 and E-Ray. The Rock Guards are one of the first mods any new Corvette owner should make, as they help to keep stones, rocks, and other road debris from being kicked up and launched against the side of your Corvette.
The solution for the widebody Z06/E-Ray took a little longer to engineer as you will see in this video from Justin at Horsepower Obsessed. Justin got a set of Rock Guards this week and he installs them on his Black C8Z. During his install, you can see the OEM piece that is removed from the rear wheel wells, and the replacement which has both a mesh backing to stop rocks from passing through those rear openings, but also the tunnel is angled so that any rocks that would normally be trapped inside the tunnel will now simply drop out.
Justin also shares a special tool he uses to install the rear guards without having to remove the tires. It’s a pretty quick install and now his Corvette Z06 will have superior protection against rock strikes and other debris hitting his car.
ACS Composite makes their Rock Guards for the both a regular C8 Stingray and the C8 Z06/E-Ray. There’s also a version for C7 Corvettes.
