We Corvette owners are known for being picky when it comes to our cars.
Sometimes that can make a car a little less enjoyable to drive if you have to worry about picking up a rock chip or a scratch in a parking lot every time you take it on the road.
No such worries, though, with this 1962 Corvette convertible described by its owner as a “nice driver quality” vehicle.
He’s offering it for sale on eBay, where six bids have climbed to $42,100 – well shy of the $59,900 “Buy It Now” price – with the auction coming to a close on Tuesday.
This Roman Red beauty is said to have undergone a restoration about 25 years ago but still looks pretty sharp these days, though the owner admits it does show the “wear and tear” of the past aquarter-century of use, including a “couple chips and blemishes” in the paint.
Still, he says it “shows very nicely” and “is gorgeous in the sun but not perfect.”
In our eyes, that just makes this Corvette more desirable since it relieves the owner of having to be paranoid the way we would be with an immaculate example.
The black interior continues that theme. It’s nice but not too nice to worry, with slight stretching on the bottom seat covers while sporting good-looking carpet, dash, and gauges. This one even is a little uptown with its power windows, an option that appeared on only 698 Corvettes in ’62.
Would you rather have this car you can drive and enjoy – or a low-mileage trailer queen that’s mainly for shows?
