[VIDEO] Miami Cops Take Down Two Car Thieves After Chase in a Stolen C8 Corvette

Authorities chased down two suspects believed to have stolen a Torch Red C8 Corvette hardtop convertible in South Florida on Wednesday afternoon.

Chopper video captured by NBC 6 News shows part of the chase, as well as the young male driver lying prone on the ground next to the Corvette as his female passenger climbs out of the car and holds her hands in the air as four lawmen point their weapons at her. Another video on WPLG Local 10 News shows the male suspect later propped against the rear fender of the Corvette, surrounded by investigators before he was eventually loaded into a squad car to be taken to jail.

The cross-county pursuit began in Miami Gardens at NW 199th Street and NW Second Avenue, then headed north before eventually coming to an end in a neighborhood about seven miles away near Hallandale Beach and West Park at SW Second Street, near 50th Avenue.

The two suspects were placed in custody, though exact charges they will be facing are not clear at this time, with the investigation still in its early stages.

No one was injured during the pursuit, police said.
