They’re visible on surveillance video, but will that be enough to lead police to the two people wanted for stealing a C7 Corvette ZR1 in California?
The thieves broke into the Mercedes-Benz of Calabasas dealership located at 24181 Calabasas Road in Calabasas, California, northwest of downtown Los Angeles, on Nov. 12 by smashing a glass pane on a metal roll gate.
Once inside, according to a statement by the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, the thieves were able “through unknown means” to start up a 2019 Admiral Blue Corvette ZR1 with a “Mercedes of Calabasas” rear license plate and made their getaway by crashing through the roll-up gate exit.
Fortunately, the 755-horsepower car was found the next day at the Burger King at 700 W. Cesar Chavez Avenue in downtown Los Angeles though reports did not mention the current condition of the one-year-only Corvette, valued at more than $150,000.
If you have information about the theft, contact the sheriff’s station at 818-878-1808, or you can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
