2024 Corvette E-Ray Named Semifinalist for North American Car of the Year Award

In the 70 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, there has never been a model like the upcoming 2024 Corvette E-Ray. It’s the first Corvette to have all-wheel drive and the system was planned for the C8 Corvette since its first trademark was secured in 2015. Now, as the new Corvette is getting ready for launch, we are seeing the industry press starting to give the car some deserved accolades.

Last month we learned that the 2024 Corvette E-Ray would be competing for the North American Car of the Year Award. This award is voted on by 50 automotive journalists that make up the NACTOY (North American Car Truck of the Year) jury and it looks like the first results are in!

Today, during the Detroit Auto Show, NACTOY announced that the Corvette performance hybrid model has made the first cut as a semifinalist. The semifinalists are being named as “The Best of 2024” and the list features 25 cars, trucks, and utility vehicles to make the first round cut.

The “Best of 2024” semifinalists in each category are:

• BMW i5
• Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray
• Ford Mustang
• Honda Accord
• Hyundai Ioniq 6
• Subaru Impreza
• Toyota Crown
• Toyota GR Corolla
• Toyota Prius/Prius Prime

Trucks
• Chevrolet Colorado
• Chevrolet Silverado EV
• Ford Ranger
• Ford Super Duty
• GMC Canyon

Utilities
• Chevrolet Blazer EV
• Chevrolet Equinox EV
• Dodge Hornet
• Genesis Electrified GV70
• Honda Pilot
• Hyundai Kona
• Kia EV9
• Mazda CX90
• Toyota Grand Highlander
• Volvo EX30

The next step comes on November 16th at the LA Auto Show and this will narrow the lists down to the top three finalists in each category. The winning vehicle from each segment will be announced on January 4, 2024.
