The record temps this summer have been something else, but one way to stay cool is with a new Corvette from our friends at Corvette Mike. The Anaheim, California dealership always has some of the coolest Corvettes and other collector cars offered for sale and a look at their online inventory page has us longing to put more than a couple of those sweet rides in our garage.

Alas, we can only dream, but if you are looking for a new-for-you Corvette to be driving during the late summer and early fall, Corvette Mike and his dedicated team can help make your dreams come true. We’ve picked out these three fantastic examples of collector cars offered by the Corvette seller, and to mix things up a bit, we are focusing on a restomod 1953 from a celebrity customizer, a classic 1958 Corvette in rare colors, and we go “Corvette Adjacent” with a first year ’67 Chevy Camaro special edition.

Corvette Mike only resells Corvettes purchased from private owners. If you have a low-mileage or rare Corvette that you are ready to part with, contact Corvette Mike and let them know what you got!

The 1953 CF1 Roadster features a Doug’s Performance carbon fiber body designed by Kindig-It Designs and then mated to a Roadster Shop custom chassis fitted with a C7 suspension. Power comes from a Lingenfelter Performance LS7 427 ci V8 coupled to a GM Performance 4L80E automatic transmission and a Borla stainless exhaust helps to amplify the soundtrack. With 673 horsepower and the roadster weighing in at only 3,025 lbs., “these things scoot” as Kindig describes it. Adding plenty of curb appeal are the 21″ and 22″ wheels built by Forgeline and covered with Michelin Pilot S4 tires. Wilwood’s disc brakes are there to bring the party to a complete stop.

The restomod’s interior offers a great update with the use of custom gauges by Dakota Digital that are brighter than the OEM gauges. A flat-bottom steering wheel helps with entering and exiting the vehicle, and yet it still retains a period look to it. Like all great restomods, the CF1 has a hidden Kicker audio system. One of the unique design features to the interior is that it was redesigned from the original to accommodate taller drivers.

1958 Panama Yellow Corvette Convertible

After that extensive look at a restomod, we return to an all-American original and one of the favorite model years for collectors, the 1958 Corvette. Chevy went all out on the redesign for the 1958 which widened and lengthened the body and famously saw the headlights change from single units to dual headlights on each side. Designers also added a fancy louvered hood, while twin chrome spears ran in parallel down the trunk.

This 1958 Corvette offered by Corvette Mike is a real standout with the very rare color combination of Panama Yellow with White Coves and a Charcoal interior. Designed for miles of effortless cruising, the 1958 has a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission mated to the 283-ci V8 engine. It’s been restored and ready to provide miles of smiles for the new owner.

1967 Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car Convertible

1967 Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car Convertible

It’s not often that I write about a Camaro, but when I do, I prefer it to be a classic special edition like this 1967 Indy 500 Pace Car Convertible with an incredible backstory. The first year Camaros were Chevy’s entry to the budding Pony Car wars and they were an immediate hit with the public. Riding on that wave of success, the Camaro was selected to Pace the 1967 Indianapolis 500. Chevrolet created four official pace cars for the race and while the true number is unknown, they also built approximately 100 to 300 replicas. Some of these replicas provided Festival Car duties during the month of May at the track while the others were available to order by Chevy zone managers and dealers. The replicas had varying powerplants with either the 350ci small block or the rarer L78 396ci big block. The rarest of all the available combinations were the 396 big blocks with four-speeds like this Camaro Indy 500 Convertible offered by Corvette Mike.

The story behind the car is that in April 1967 an Air Force pilot named Merle Brand was stationed in San Antonio when he saw the ’67 Camaro Pace Car Convertible being delivered to Benson Chevrolet. After inquiring about the car and learning that it would be on display for an upcoming Chevy Indy Car promotion, the pilot had to have it and paid an additional fee to purchase it right there and then. Little did he know that he had purchased not only the rare 396ci with a four-speed manual transmission, but the car was the only ’67 Pace Car to be delivered with the mag-style wheel covers. With the red line tires, it looks straight out of the Hot Wheels catalog. Merle drove the car until he could no longer drive. It was sold and a body off restoration was completed in 2014. As you can see from the photos, plenty of documentation comes with the Indy 500 Camaro.
