The car crazy crew over at Dan Kruse Classics will host their Cord and Kruse combination live and online auction this coming Saturday, June 17th. Bidders can attend in person at the Midland County Horseshoe Pavilion in Midland, Texas or bid online. Activities will kick off at 10 am central and run until all lots have had their time on the auction block.

As we go to print, we see 99 vehicles listed on this weekend’s docket. Of those, 16 are Corvettes. Eight of those cars were born during the C3 generation. Elsewhere on the docket we see two first generation Corvettes, two midyears, one C4, two C5’s, and one C6. The selection of Corvettes is about as diverse as you can get. Whether you’re looking for a timeless classic, an all-out racecar, or a potential daily driver, Dan Kruse Classics has you covered this weekend in Texas. We’ll also note that half of the docket sports some form of modification ranging from wheels and tires all the way up a full restomod. It’s a great sampling of what our hobby has to offer.

Here’s a few Corvettes to keep an eye on this weekend. We think they show the unique diversity of the Midland-Odessa offerings.

1961 Corvette

If you’re looking for a finely restored classic, check out this red 1961 convertible. 1961 marked the penultimate year for the C1 generation. The most notable change that year was a new rear end which gave a bit of a sneak peek to what was coming in 1963. The new caboose meant that the exhaust exited under the car instead of through the rear bumpers. A total of 10,939 Corvettes were born that year.

Lot DKC23-026 is powered by a 283ci engine backed to 4-speed manual transmission. It’s finished in the timeless combination of red exterior, white coves, and black interior. Wide white wall tires wrap standard wheels with the 2-bar hubcaps. Looking at the photos we see a nicely presented C1 that just needs a new driver and twisty road.

2005 Corvette Coupe

Maybe a new daily driver is on your target list. If so, take look at lot DKC23-087, a Black over Cashmere 2005 Coupe. When the C6 debuted, it built on the lessons learned from the C5. The rear transaxle remained, but the overall proportions where tidier, creating a more nimble yet familiar car. In the end, GM chose evolution rather than revolution. Power came from the new 400hp LS2 engine. 0-60mph occurred in the mid-4 second range and lateral grip approached 1g.

This C6 Corvette shows 34,000 miles since new. It features the 4-speed automatic transmission, dual roof package, polished wheels, Bose AM/FM/CD radio and a host of other popular features. Put this one in your garage as a weekend cruiser or make it your new daily.

Pro Street 1969 Corvette Coupe

Finally, let’s go racing with this Pro Street 1969 Coupe. Channel your inner John Force and get to bidding on lot DKC23-070. The exterior is finished in a flashy orange, purple, and white combination. The 496ci big block wears a BDS 671 blower fed by 2 Holley carbs and towers above the roofline. NOS adds even more cowbell when you need it. All that power is routed to the giant meats out back via an automatic transmission sporting a B&M Shifter. The engine exhales through huge chrome side exhaust. All you need to do now is grab your helmet, fire suit, and bidders pass and then hit the track!
