[VIDEO] When Customization Goes Too Far: The C8 Corverrari

It’s no secret that Chevy engineers benchmarked Ferrari as they were designing the eighth generation Corvette.

Check out this C8 “Corverrari” or “Fer-vette” that takes things a few steps further, including the addition of Ferrari badges on the nose, front fenders, rear bumper, and even in the center caps of the custom deep-dish yellow-ringed wheels. The frame for the license plate (appropriately labeled YELA BE) is even marked “Ferrari.”

Somehow, we don’t think the discerning Corvette enthusiast – or Ferrari fan – is going to be fooled by this bright yellow imposter, certainly not the fellow who spotted it and lets loose a few vulgarities as he walks around this Ferrari wannabe in an Instagram video posted by fe_motorworks.

No details on this build are offered, but it appears that someone in California has subjected a hardtop convertible C8 to a widebody transformation with all sorts of new body panels, vents, and even a high wing spoiler from Pandem.

All that effort has paid off with nearly 88,000 likes on the post, however. What we don’t understand is the rationale behind spending this much money on a C8 to make it into a fake Ferrari. Why not just go out and buy a real Ferrari (for perhaps less money) if that’s what you really want?

As one person commented on Instagram: “Why would you put different badges on a mid engine vett?? She’s gorgeous, she’s fast. she doesn’t need to be fake anything?????”

  1. Sacrilegious!😱 I have to ask WHY? Someone destroyed a Beautiful C8 Hardtop Convertible in an attempt to make it look like a Ferrari? Have to say that is just plain FUGGLY……. IMO

  2. Just need to add purple lights in the fender wells, a tall wing in the back, and a big stainless steel muffler hanging under the bumper. Also needs the little doggie with the bouncing head in the back window. People are stupid!

  3. Herecy!

I thought I would never say this, but at least the Crown Princess of the BKC (Boomer Kingdom of Corvette), Princess Emelia, would never desecrate a Corvette like this.

    (That I know of)

  4. some people just have a different idea of what style is, but this one has no style, or taste, just a lot of money to waste….just say’n.
