Freije and Freije's Spring Big Boy Toy Sale is this Saturday, April 29th

Freije and Freije Auctions are hosting their Spring Big Boy Toy Auction this coming Saturday, April 29th. The event will take place at 2340 W US Highway 40 in Clayton, Indiana and festivities will get underway at 9am.

The diverse auction docket consists of vehicles, road art, memorabilia, and more. As of this writing, there are 209 vehicles slated to cross the block. Of those, 14 are Corvettes representing 7 of the 8 production generations. Only the 6th generation is not represented this weekend. C3’s make up over half of the Corvette docket with 8 of them on deck. The majority of those are later C3’s with the rubber rear bumpers. This should make for an interesting auction to watch as the later C3’s are one of the hotter corners of the market these days. Elsewhere we see one Corvette each from the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th generations.

Here’s a few Corvettes to keep an eye on this weekend in Indiana.

1958 Silver Blue on Blue Fuelie

1958 Silver Blue on Blue Fuelie

1958 marked the first major restyle to the first-generation Corvette. While the stylish side coves remained, we now received quad headlights out front, a cool washboard hood, and handsome chrome trunk spears out back. 9,168 Corvettes left the St. Louis plant in 1958.

This timeless 1958 Corvette is finished in Silver Blue paint with Inca Silver coves and a matching blue interior. The car is 1 of 504 (~5.5%) born with the 283/250hp fuel injected engine. Other options include the Borg Warner T-10 manual 4-speed transmission, a 3.70:1 rearend, and white stripe tires.

It’s been frame off restored and is a past NCRS Top Flight winner. The sale includes the judging sheets, owner’s manual, and a sales sheet brochure.

1978 Silver Anniversary Coupe

1978 Silver Anniversary Coupe

Corvette turned 25 years old in 1978 and Chevrolet celebrated with two special edition option packages. 6,502 Pace Cars were produced while 15,283 (32% of production) Silver Anniversary cars also rolled off the line that year. RPO B2Z consisted of special 2-tone silver and charcoal paint, aluminum wheels, and sport mirrors. It was available with nearly every other available option and interior color. 1978 was also the first year for the domed rear window.

This Silver Anniversary Corvette is equipped with the standard L48 350 that’s mated to an automatic transmission. Options include the red leather interior, cruise control, power windows, power locks, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering wheel, and AM/FM radio. The numbers matching car shows only 2,937 actual miles and presents in a well-preserved condition.

2023 70th Anniversary Stingray Coupe

Freije and Freije's Spring Big Boy Toy Sale is this Saturday, April 29th

The automotive world was turned on its ear when the 8th generation Corvette was released. The midengined architecture was nothing the Corvette world had ever seen before. Corvette’s performance was no longer limited by the front engine layout. Demand for the new Corvette has been off the charts ever since sales began.

This White Pearl Metallic 2023 70th Anniversary Stingray coupe is powered by the standard 495hp LT2 engine which is backed by the 8-speed dual clutch transmission. It’s a one-owner car in nearly new condition with just 725 miles on the odometer. The 70th anniversary package requires the top dog 3LT option group which includes all the best goodies including. Heated and cooled seats, front and rear cameras, premium audio and much more. Other exterior features include the Satin Matrix full length stripes and Midnight Gray aluminum wheels.

If you’ve been in line for a C8 Stingray, here’s your chance to grab a nearly new 70th Anniversary Z51 Coupe without the wait.
