[ACCIDENT] Suspect Found Hiding in a House After C6 Corvette Crashes During Police Chase

You can run but you can’t hide.

That’s the takeaway from Friday night’s high-speed chase of a dark red C6 Corvette coupe by Mesa, Arizona authorities that eventually ended in a minor crash and the arrest of two young suspects ordered to leave a house where they were hiding.

Shortly before midnight, the Phoenix Police air unit took over the chase from the Mesa Police air unit, and the male suspect crashed the Corvette in an alleyway near 4000 West Grant Street, jumped into a backyard, and entered a house from a second-floor window. Authorities say the residence was known to the suspect.

Check out this video taken by ONSCENE.TV that shows the final moments of the apprehension of the male suspect, along with another woman apparently wanted in connection with the incident.

Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident, and Mesa Police say at least one handgun with an extended magazine was recovered after a search of the Corvette.

The male suspect, bleeding slightly from his nose, was evaluated by Phoenix Fire crews for minor injuries sustained during the crash.

Mesa Police Department’s Air Unit had begun tracking the Corvette around 11:30 p.m. after the young male driver fled at high speed from officers, heading westbound on the Red Mountain 202 near the 101.

Arizona Department of Public Safety and Phoenix Police eventually joined in the chase, during which the suspect drove recklessly at high speed throughout the South Phoenix area, all the while with at least one tire deflated.

No word on any charges that may be filed in the case.
