ACS Composite Introduces New Undertray System for the C8 Corvette Stingray

Never content with resting on their laurels, our friends at ACS Composite are back with another innovative product for the C8 Corvette Stingray. If your Corvette has either the OEM 5VM front splitter or own of the three front splitters offered by ACS Composite, you’ll want to check out the new Undertray System that protects your splitter and improves your car’s aero performance.

In addition to the C8 Stingray Undertray System, we’re sharing photos and details of ACS Composite’s new 7VM front splitter for the C8 Corvette, as well as their new C8 Engine Appearance Package to help fill in those empty spaces in your engine compartment after GM’s supplier decided to get out of the game.

ACS Undertray System

ACS Composite’s Undertray System is a bolt-on solution that provides superior protection and enhanced aerodynamics for your C8 Stingray. ACS Composite describes it as “the ultimate solution for protecting your C8 Corvette Stingray’s splitter from damage due to scraping.” If you’ve ever rolled up on a parking curb or other obstacle and have heard that sickening crunch or scraping sound as you back off it, you know exactly what we are talking about.

The Undertray System fits the front splitters from ACS (1VM, 5VM, 7VM) as well as GM’s OEM 5VM visible carbon fiber splitter. The Undertray system is made from ACS Composite’s proprietary PC Composite, a very strong and durable material that helps protect your splitter from damage due to scraping. ACS has also engineered optional Scrape Guards that are installed on the underside of the undertray, and they take the impact when the front splitter bottoms out. The Scrape Guards are also made from the durable PC Composite material, and they can be replaced as they wear down. Together, the Undertray and Scrape Guards offer complete protection for the C8 Stingray’s front splitter.


The other benefit of ACS Composite’s Undertray system is an enhancement of the C8 Stingray’s aerodynamics. The Undertray System is specifically designed to be parallel with the road, streamlining the turbulent air that is directed under the car by the splitter. By creating a flat parallel surface to the ground, the undertray accelerates the air as its compressed under the car’s body. The undertray nearly doubles the aero efficiency of your front splitter.


The C8 Stingray Undertray is a bolt-on accessory that can be easily removed for service. The Undertray has three mounting brackets that are shaped to fit the front of the Stingray, and they use the same OEM fastener locations that are used for the front splitter. 7VM Splitter for C8 Stingray


ACS Composite’s 7VM Splitter is their most aggressive front splitter yet for the mid-engine Corvette. The 7VM splitter incorporates the C8’s signature side-intake element into the design of the side winglets. The winglets are taller when compared to those on the ACS 5VM splitter but the rest of the splitter is consistent in width and ground clearance as the other C8 splitters offered by ACS Composite.

From a design perspective, the notched winglet gives the appearance of speed, and it’s completely unique compared to some of the other designs we’ve seen out there. As the C8 Stingray was designed to function at its very best with optimum efficiency provided by the 5VM splitter, the 7VM splitter adds even more downforce with its larger winglet design.


The ACS 7VM ground effects are top coated in an original Carbon Flash Metallic Black (CFZ) paint finish. Carbon Flash Black can be identified by the signature silver metallic flake in the paint, and it will match all C8 Corvette accent pieces on the Corvette including the front grill, rear diffuser, and more.

C8 Stingray Coupe Engine Appearance Pack


We’ve been missing the factory RPO ZZ3 engine appearance option for an entire year now as the part supplier is no longer in that business. Without those engine panels installed, the Corvette Coupe’s engine bay has a raw, unfinished look. If you’re tired of looking at those openings and want to highlight your 495-hp LT2, the ACS Engine Appearance Pack offers several ways to customize your Coupe’s engine compartment.


The Engine Appearance Pack is installed on either side of the engine using the factory OEM mounts and supplied Torx bolts, and the entire process takes just a couple of minutes. The louvered design of the appearance pack resembles the OEM versions, and they help to hide the less attractive parts of your engine bay while focusing attention to the engine cover. ACS Composite manufactures the C8 Engine Appearance Packs using plastic injection via a cavity mold. This process creates a panel with sharper edges and an improved fit, and they are resistant to the LT2’s engine temperatures so they will never distort from their original shape.

The appearance packs are available in Carbon Flash Metallic with Torch Red and Arctic White versions coming soon, so you’ll be able to customize with either matching or contrasting colors. We like the Carbon Flash Appearance Pack as they are guaranteed to match your C8’s Carbon Flash trim, vents, and body panels already on the car.
