[VIDEO] The Peterson Museum Offers World's First Deep Dive on the New 2024 Corvette E-Ray

The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles hosted the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray last week and they recently posted this Deep Dive into the Corvette E-Ray with team members Aaron Link and Kirk Bennion.

On display at the Petersen were two Corvette E-Rays and a cutaway chassis display. Corvette’s vehicle performance manager Aaron Link gives us a walkaround the car and discusses the technical features that make the E-Ray “one like none.” Aaron tells us the E-Ray’s 1.9 kWh battery pack features 80 cells that are laid horizontally and stacked, and they are packaged in sets of 20. At the front of the center tunnel are the electronic modules that make the system work. The front axle was specifically made for the E-Ray, and it only fits on the E-Ray. The E-Rays all-season tires from Michelin are the largest all season tires on the market.

The same LT2 from the Stingray works with the front motor to provide a significant boost in horsepower. The transmission has the same gear ratios as the Stingray, but it also has a dedicated pump for running on Stealth Mode, which Aaron discusses.

Corvette Exterior Design Manager Kirk Bennion joins the video in front of the Sea Wolf Gray E-Ray on display at the Petersen. Kirk says the E-Ray’s aero package is standard, with the front splitter utilizing a three-piece design like that found on the Z51 Stingrays. The standard wheel for the E-Ray will be the 5-Spoke design in Pearl Nickel, and the other options include a polished aluminum option, a gloss black option, and one in Carbon Flash with a Machined Edge.

Kirk also states the E-Rays come standard in the EFY body-color trim but a black trim option called EFR will also be available for those that like the contrasting Carbon Flash Metallic on the intake trim and vents.

  1. This corvette looks great with all one color this is the way the c7 and c8 should be get rid of all the black crap. on the front, rear and sides yes i would buy it

  2. Where is Aaron Link getting off saying the E-Ray has a friendly and approachable price? With a starting price of over $104,000, I don’t think so.

  3. The price might seem high, but compared to any foreign competition,it’s relatively cheap for what you get.Granted it’s a Corvette and at these prices the cars will be had by the well to do and the regular blue collar buyers like the old days of the muscle cars

  4. The blue collar workers will not be able to buy these Corvettes like the old days of affordable muscle cars!!
