For decades, to cut costs and increase profits, General Motors has made a practice of sharing parts among its vehicles. Remember the 1976 Corvette embarrassingly borrowing the steering wheel from the lowly Vega?

Well, apparently that tradition continues even today, but only on a much classier level. According to GM Authority and The Drive, it appears the same exhaust tips are being used on two of GM’s most expensive vehicles for 2023 – the foreign-market Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the Cadillac Escalade V.

GM hasn’t gotten back with these websites to confirm the parts are indeed the same, but they do appear to be in spy photos of the foreign Z06 (which hasn’t been formally launched so there are no official photos to compare).

Z06s for sale overseas will have extra emissions equipment (namely gasoline particulate filters), so they must use corner-mounted exhausts similar to but not identical to the Stingray because there’s just not enough room for the center-exit exhaust found in U.S. versions.

The $152,000-and-up Escalade V, by the way, uses a supercharged 6.2-liter 682-horsepower V8 that, while not an actual Corvette engine, is still assembled in Bowling Green so it wouldn’t be surprising if the Cadillac doesn’t share a few parts of the Corvette.

Since the foreign Z06 and the Escalade V aren’t being sold in the same markets, The Drive notes “a visual side-by-side (to confirm the supposition) will only ever exist virtually until someone decides to import an Escalade V to the U.K.”

In the grand scheme of things, we are of the opinion that it really doesn’t matter if the same tips are indeed used on these two high-end vehicles. Of course, since we are a website catering to Corvettes, we are of the opinion that the Caddy might be borrowing the tips from the Corvette and not vice versa.
