Next year, the legendary 24 Hours of Lemans in France will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of its first race in 1923.

Corvettes at Carlisle – slated to take place August 24-26, 2023 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds – is planning a special exhibit to mark the Le Mans celebration.

“The largest, most prestigious race in the world is the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” says Lance Miller of Carlisle Events. “With the 100-year anniversary upon us, we felt it was appropriate to feature various Corvettes of all generations that raced at Le Mans. We are looking forward to celebrating the 100th in true Corvette fashion; with a special display at Corvettes at Carlisle.”

About a dozen cars that have competed on the 8.467-mile-long track will be gathered as part of the annual Chip’s Choice display in Building T. Corvettes at Carlisle co-founder Chip Miller initiated Chip’s Choice in 1990, featuring a specific theme each year until his death in 2005. Since then, his son Lance has continued that tradition.

The exact lineup of cars for 2023 is still being determined, but we are told the legendary #3 Cunningham Corvette will be there for sure. Now owned by Irwin Kroiz, this historically significant race car that was the winner of its class in 1960 will be making its first appearance at Carlisle since 2021.

Corvettes at Carlisle welcomes enthusiasts from around the world each year, with show cars and those simply parked on the grounds totaling more than 5,000 Corvettes in 2022.
