[VIDEO] AZ State QB Receives a C8 Corvette from His Parents as a Graduation Gift

What a way to celebrate a storybook career for Arizona State quarterback Trenton Bourguet!

The former walk-on has overcome adversity all season, first competing with Alabama transfer Paul Tyson in the spring for the starting position, then having to face another transfer during the summer, former Florida starter Emory Jones.


When Jones took a hit to the head in the second quarter and had to exit the Sun Devils’ game against then-No. 21 Washington on Oct. 8, Bourguet came off the bench and led his team to a shocking 45-38 victory.

As if the win weren’t enough of a reward, his parents surprised him with a mid-engine C8 Corvette as a graduation present.

He gets hugs and congratulations from onlookers before finally wiping away a tear, putting his bookbag on the ground and heading over to crank up his Arctic White Stingray coupe, which features Sky Cool Gray interior and Spectra Gray Machined Trident Spoke Wheels – as well as a burgundy and yellow #16 jersey draped across the windshield.

Bourguet entered the game with his Sun Devils behind 10-3, but on the next play, tailback Xazavian Valladay tied the score with an 11-yard run. Bourguet then engineered an 11-play, 90-yard drive on Arizona State’s next possession to take a 17-10 lead, and the Sun Devils stayed ahead with TDs on three of their six possessions in the second half.

Bourguet completed 15 of 21 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns.

  4. Must be nice having rich parents. Most of us had to work many years before the dream of owing a new Corvette became a reality.

  5. Stupid parents think their kid is special because he can toss a football. WOW what an accomplishment.

  6. Or maybe his parents saved for his education and bought the car for him with that money since he got a scholarship? Regardless you all sound like jealous A-Holes!
