A video shared to the C8 Corvette Z06 group on FB implied that Corvette dealer and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick was at the Corvette Assembly Plant to pick up his Corvettes yesterday. We have since confirmed that was not the case.

Last week, we shared that 14 2023 Corvette Z06s have been built for customers, and we estimate that number to be higher as another week of production has passed. So far, none of the completed Z06s have been released from the Corvette Assembly Plant’s quality control hold yet. Also, dealers with completed orders have yet to be invoiced for the completed cars.

We expect the plant to hold these cars for a little longer before releasing them to Jack Cooper for shipping. We do not have any indication of exactly how long the QC hold will go on.

However, we do have some positive news about Z06 deliveries from a customer whose Z06 order also includes the R8C Museum Delivery. Chad Carroll posted on social media that his Z06 will be built next week and is already scheduled for Museum Delivery on November 3rd. Of course, that timeline is subject to change, but we assume those deliveries are scheduled with the approval of Chevrolet.

Regarding Stingray production, a new order cycle for the Stingrays will begin tomorrow. Allocation notices when out last week, and we should have the latest constraints tomorrow. Stay tuned for the latest Corvette production news from CorvetteBlogger.com.

  1. It’s all about $$$. Screw around long enough, an the poor bastards that have waited so long for their cars will pay any “price adjustment” the dealers want to add on.

  2. Were there any issues before the big shots and the youtubers got theirs? The carrot at the end of the stick is now black.

  3. Chevrolet’s reputation has a ton riding on this release…. Regardless of the reasons, it’s definitely a last chance look prior to “real” paying customers receiving their Z06s… I’d probably do the same. 😉

  4. I don’t agree that GM is playing games. it seems to me that this particular model has 2 things going on that makes it’s production and subsequent delivery problematic. 1. Relatively new design (mid engine) 2. Flagship model, all new engine design. GM wants this car to be as perfect as is humanly possible hence “quality hold” right now I think the Z06 is the best you can buy at this price and above this price given GM’s obsession with perfection as it applies to the Z06.

  5. Do people come on here just to complain? No YouTuber received any Z06’s yet. The cars they did video’s with were the same the magazines got, press cars for 1 or 2 days. GM does this with a all new models they are releasing, just as they did with the C8 Stingray. The C8 Z06 is going to be an awesome car that we should happy to add to the Corvette family.

  6. I was at the museum on Tuesday. Rick was there. He came from the assembly plant, so he may have seen his vin 001 car. Likely they will ship it to him when it completes Quality checks?

  7. Norton Jr, really?? What are you the friggen spelling Police?? Why did you even waste the time lol.
