Chevrolet sent out the latest constraints to dealers for the upcoming September order cycle that will take place starting next Thursday, and the usual suspects are making an appearance.

We don’t have any percentage info as to the extent of these constraints, but we are seeing the FE2 Mag-Ride (Non-Z51) and FE4 Mag-Ride (Z51 Performance Package) on the list as available but limited to some extent. That’s been going on since before the start of the 2023s and what might happen is your dealer may not have your exact allocation, so you have to decide whether to skip the allocation and wait for the next order cycle, or you either go without the option or have to upgrade the build to receive it.

Options here are listed at zero quantities, so they remain at 100% constraint and are unavailable to order:

Z06 1YH07 and IYH67 Models (Coupe and Convertibles)
PEF/RIA All Weather Trunk and Floor Liners
LPO 5ZZ High Wing Spoiler in Carbon Flash
LPO RCC Red Engine Cover without 70th Anniversary Package
J6N Edge Red Brake Calipers

Some good news here is that we are not seeing the 70th Anniversary packages on constraint. We are not sure if they were able to claw back some of the Edge Red calipers and engine covers for the packages or if they are swapping out the Edge Red calipers for Bright Red which was the contingency plan we heard earlier. Chevy has built approximately 650 or so 70th Anniversary Stingrays to date.

One thing we are still waiting to hear about is the completion of several Z06s that started the week at 3400 status. We are hoping they will be completed this week so we can officially get underway with production. One of my contacts described waiting for the news as like “pacing in the hospital waiting on the birth!”

  1. My god GM, just build the damn cars already. Really sick of all this jerking around at GM. I should be happy I guess with what I have, and I am. Honestly happy I am not in the middle of all this bs on a new one. To bad GM doesn’t pull it’s friggen head out and just build as many as you can, supplier problems GET A NEW SUPPLIER!! Is this your first time building cars GM??? What a joke.

  2. Having bought Vettes since 1962, and lived the history, I’m now tired of the BS — and looking
toward Europe for the next toy.

  3. I’m guessing that GM is not happy with what Covid brought us either. Around here, we have people who have learned how not to work. That said…GM could get a close color match substitute for the Edge Red paint. The vendor’s misfortune should not prevent GM from getting a small temporary supply elsewhere.

  4. On top of everything else going wrong, we, up here in Canada, are being hit with a luxury tax of 20% over $100,000.
