[PICS] The Barn Finds and Project Cars of the 2022 Corvettes at Carlisle Show

A few years back, we ran a gallery post with the project cars from Corvettes at Carlisle. That piece was quite popular, so we figured we’d beat that drum one more time.

Barn finds and project cars are the great antithesis to our traditional photo galleries. We usually bring you the pristine, shiny, and rare in our event coverage, so why not trot down a different path for a change? It’s not likely that the piece of Corvette jewelry you’re looking at today was in that condition some time ago.

Every Corvette has a great story, and we’re certain these needy Corvettes have a sordid tale to tell. Who left it in that barn or garage, and why was it parked there in the first place? While we may never get all those answers, it’s always fun to sit back and pontificate about what that wreck could someday be. Do you restore it back to factory specs? Do you go full restomod with a crate C7 LT4 and 7-speed manual transmission? Or is it so far gone that it’s just a parts car at this point? What about a 4×4 Corvette? Electric powertrain anyone?

Conveniently, most of the basket cases at Carlisle can be found in the swap meet. That makes it easy to snag your next project and then immediately begin the quest to acquire all the parts you’ll need for the journey back to the streets.

Each of the Corvettes in our gallery below could be a blank canvas for a savvy restorer. If you have the time, patience, talent, and (of course) the money, which one of these cars would you save, and what would you do with it? Tell us in the comments below.
