[VIDEO] Nick Tandy's RC Corvette C8.R Sets Fastest Time Yet at Le Mans

We’ve previously shared the very cool remote controlled Corvette C8.R piloted by Le Mans qualifying champ Nick Tandy and last night he brought it out to the start/finish line at Le Mans for some high-speed testing. Joining him on the track was Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor.

“We are here…Le Mans 2022. Probably the most important night of the week. It is RC-car testing with Nick Tandy. Nick Tandy is driver/engineer. We have Antonio Garcia out here for a management role, and I’m here as…the video guy,” says Taylor.

Last year at Le Mans, Nick’s RC car ran 114 MPH on the track and during the off-season he made some additional upgrades to both the power of the car as well as additional aero for high-speed stability.

In its first run, the C8.R had a top speed of 138 mph according to the phone app, easily setting a new record for the car. Traffic on the course kept the testing limited, and then we watch as the car speeds down the track and then dies, forcing a long walk to retrieve it.

We thought the C8.R was then done for the evening as “many flashing red lights” were viewable in the cockpit. But after a quick cool-down, the RC Corvette was back on the track and added to its record run with a time of 143 mph!
