[VIDEO] Watch Corvette Racing as the C8.Rs Undergo Scrutineering for Le Mans

Corvette Racing is in France for 2022 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and yesterday the C8.Rs underwent Scrutineering, which is just a fancy way to say pre-race inspections. However, there is a lot of pomp and circumstance as the event is held in the city square and the fans are able to come out to watch it all.

During Scrutineering, the Corvettes race cars are weighed, measured, prodded, and poked, and while all that is happening, the primary driver line-up with Jordan Taylor, Antonio Garcia, Tommy Milner, and Nick Tandy were interviewed for the official broadcast. Our team’s other two endurance drivers for Le Mans, Alexander Simms and Nicky Catsburg, will arrive later.

During the interview, Nick Tandy was asked about the chances for the team and said:

“We are here to win. We have everything I think prepared, ready. It will for sure be a big fight. There are seven really really high-class cars. You know, you see the level of competition in the WEC races every month between the Corvette, the factory Porsche, the Ferraris. We don’t expect anything less this week. We come here as best prepared as we can be. The car was really good last year, we’ve learned a lot of things from last year already, so we hope to come into the race week looking at a victory and anything less will be a disappointment.”

As you can see, Jordan is channeling a “Top Gun” look for this year’s Le Mans (click here if you missed his Oliver Gavin/Top Gun mash-up) and he is asked about the new movie. He says he loved the film and adds “As race car drivers we look up to fighter pilots and astronauts and those sorts of things, so to see kind of what Tom Cruise did, filming most of the movie inside the airplane was impressive, and now (stroking his new mustache), I’m trying to bring a piece of it to Le Mans as well.”

Here is the video from the full Friday event embedded below and Corvette Racing’s drivers take the stage at about the four-hour 37-minute mark. I do have the video queued up at that point. Following the interview, jump forward to 5:26:10 as the team is in the center square set up for the official photo.
